Rumpelstiltskin’s Reaction: Take-One

It just didn’t seem like when Rumpel used the dagger in the fairytale world that it was anything more then a knife, but maybe it was. And we are in the real world now so if Rumpel is going to go after Regina and he doesn’t have any magic then get a gun. Though we don’t actually know if they have magic or not. They could.

Since she's locked up in the hospital I've been wondering if Dr. Hopper is actually treating her and that maybe he will somehow become aware of who she is through his interactions with Mr. Gold when he begins treating him. Not necessarily their FTL history together – I don't think that Gold is going to talk about the fact he is Rumple and was in love with Belle, but if he talks about a woman he loved who died . . .who knows – Archie might put it together and figure out that the woman in the hospital he had been treating is the woman Gold thought was dead. He isn't too keen on Regina anymore so he might figure out that she was involved in her being locked up in the first place.

So based on the above, his reaction could go two ways. If he is told about her by someone, he could end up being brought along by someone to rescue her and bring her out of the hospital. If he just suddenly sees her – I don’t think he is suddenly going to go all cane-mad Mr. Gold again. I think the more human/less evil moments we have seen of Rumple were when Belle was with him so I would predict he would almost be so shocked to see her that his evil Goldness would be momentarily shocked away and I don’t think he will know how to react – I can see him kind of withdrawing from the situation, just like he did in FTL. I don’t think he will know how to react when he realizes she is there and he can be with her. I kind of predict he is going to be afraid, once again, that she would never really be able to love him and that, even if she does remember, it is going to take a lot for him to believe that someone could really love him – even in Mr. Gold form. If she is messed up from being in the hospital, I tend to agree with a lot of the fanfic that I can see him wanting to be the one to provide a home for her while she assimilates to Storybrooke and so he can assess whether she remembers anything.

But definately, it is going to give him a whole new incentive to beat Regina at her game!!!

I think it is unlikely Archie is treating Belle just because Regina asked the nurse if anyone had visited her and she said no one, ever. And i don’t think that the Queen would risk letting her wander around town. And even more so if she remembers something about fairytale land.

I’ve actually read a bit of the belle and rumplestiltskin fanfiction out there. I don’t think it’ll just be Mr.Gold finding out about Belle and rescueing her or using the “please” card on Regina. Then taking Belle to his home. It is going to be epic. They’re probably going to blow our minds away and do something completely unexpected.

My initial thought is that Regina will use the existence of Belle as a tool, a shield if you will. So there will be some kind of conflict, and Regina will pull the old, back off or Belle get’s hurt routine. My other thought is that Mr. Gold knows Belle is alive, but his plan isn’t complete and he doesn’t know where she is. He planned the scenario of Storybrooke so the EQ would enact it, because only in Storybrooke can Rumplestiltskin still retain his evil powers and love Belle at the same time.

i will be disappointed now if Belle’s reunion/rescue isn’t epic. I’ve read a lot of gold/belle fanfiction too; every time after I read, I think, god, I hope it’s like this on the show.

there’s so many different ways it could go. belle may not remember. that would be a big twist – I think – because Gold would have to pretend around her.

that would be typical Regina but i really hope Belle doesn’t become a pawn. that poor girl have been through so much already.

In watching the Mad Hatter episode and realizing that Rumple and Regina made a deal I am wondering if the deal includes Belle. I think he knows that she has Belle, and I think that Belle remembers everything and this is why she is locked up, after all believing that you are Belle from Beauty and the Beast is crazy. Remember how Regina went straight to the psych ward after she learned that Rumple knew who he was? I think Regina set up the deal of Snow White/MM for Belle. Just a theory but I think that Rumple is way to smooth to loose it on Regina. I think he knew a long time before he even gave Regina the curse that she had Belle, and is partly why he created it. After all Snow White begs Charming to take her to see Rumple when she is pregnant because he CAN see the future. He has the advantage of knowing what is going on when nobody else does. Just my two cents.
