It felt rushed to me but that’s probably because I would so watch 20 seasons of the Rumbelle show.
Still, I found it very satisfying for Rumple to become a hero.

we actually don’t know for sure what the pre-conditions of pulling the sword out of the stone are. For all we know, it has to be a white dude under 5’11 with great potential for total self-loathing. Sir Kay was clearly too confident.

Keeper of FelixI apologize if this has already been said, but I’m wondering if Emma gave Rumple/Gold his elusive happy ending? He’s actually a hero and is with Belle. Is that mostly everything he’s ever wanted (except for of course the fact that Baelfire is dead)? Does that still make Emma the savior if she’s still finding happy endings for people?

You know, I’m not so sure that’s the case — I think we’re being told that they are still pretty up in the air, and based on the wording of A&E’s latest interviews, I’m wondering if they might not give Rumbelle the axe in the end. I don’t know, is it just me, or did they sound unusually negative about the future of that particular pairing compared to the others?

Yeah, there’s that little pesky detail, which was pretty much what drove Rumple’s character… Yeah. I have nothing to say on this topic. Nothing.
I think the bear debacle served to establish Rumple’s on team “hero” — the question is still what his actions will be from here on. We know that the title of “hero” on OUAT no longer means a heck of a lot – which is precisely what Emma was saying at the end of that episode.

I think Emma’s savior status is sort of like a degree. If someone is an MD, or, say, a JD — they’re still an MD or a JD even if they don’t practice medicine or law. At least, that’s my sense of it, others might disagree.
