All I know is going to be interesting to see how this pans out. *no pun intended*

The prophecy is so vague and could be interpreted in so many ways. Not only do we not know exactly what “undoing” means, but we don’t know how it might happen. It could be an action of Henry’s that is his undoing, but it could also be that saving Henry is his undoing or harming him is his undoing. It could also be his fear of him or worrying about him. Getting Henry out of the way could be the cause itself!
If it is what will be and not what could be, then there’s no way he can escape it- it will happen regardless.
I agree that Gold is having a powerful internal struggle- he doesn’t want to hurt Henry but he doesn’t trust himself.
Good points! I would hope Rumpel is aware of the twists of fate enough to realize by now he cannot escape some things, but he can choose his actions and what sort of man he wants to be. If he will be undone either way, I hope he decides he is going to do what he can to make things right with Bae, protect Henry, and be the man Belle saw, not the man Regina tempts him to be with Lacey.
Of course, Regina pushing his buttons that way is interesting-she is playing with fire for Henry but does not know it. She probably just thought to stir things up so Gold can’t play the kindly grandpa. She doesn’t like Henry having others to love beside her. If Lacey pushes Gold to snap, then in a way the prophecy would be fulfilled because Regina made Lacey in response to learning of Henry’s connection to Rumple. So much for Snow’s hope that the family connection would “Mellow everyone out!”. It might have just made everything get far more complex and bumpy.

I think she would have dispensed with the cruel game that is Lacey and would have taken more direct action. She may have just absconded with Henry and explained the prophecy to him, leaving the Charmings and Gold with a lot of questions. Perhaps then Gold would come clean about the prophecy, although it’s not like him to come forth with information unless he has to.
I can imagine that sequence of events coming to a dramatic climax where Regina lets loose some kind of magic, Gold intercepts in before it harms Henry and then loses his own magic somehow and Regina has to run away with the terrible truth that she nearly harmed the one person she loves.
I kind of like the idea of having Gold be the amnesiac for a change. Maybe he doesn’t actually lose his magic, but he forgets that he has it, and is therefore incapable of using it.

“All magic comes with a price”. Regina used magic to turn Belle into Lacey so now her price is that Henry is in danger from Rumple and nobody realises it

Technically Rumple is following Charming’s advice and showing Belle “the man she fell in love with”, it’s just not what Charming was expecting.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixApril 26, 2013 at 9:38 pm #189022thelonebamfParticipantPriceofMagic you’re definitely right about the price Regina is going to pay in regard to Henry. Dash those hidden fees!
Even though Rumple is technically doing what David suggested, I think this is definitely a “letter over spirit” of the law sort of thing. Gold knew exactly what David meant, which is why he gave him a skeptical look. He knew at that moment that David didn’t realize what he was saying, he was just offering generic advice. This would be great, except Belle and Rumplestiltskin don’t have what I’d call a “generic” relationship. (Well nobody in the show does, really…) Obviously the show has a time limit, but in a perfect fictional world, David would have actually asked a few questions about the nature of their relationship before saying something like that.
Should Neal or anyone else confront Gold about his actions regarding Lacey, I don’t think “David told me to!” is going to garner much sympathy from anyone. However, I doubt this is all going to culminate in a conversation- it’s probably going to be a much more dramatic sequence of events. Time is short! We’ve got to get it sorted! XD
