I find it worth noting that Rumplestiltskin knew about Snow’s baby and that it was even a girl, so I am wondering if he really knew Cinderella was lying to him, and why he would continue through with the contract and imprisonment if he did know? He would then have known he was to be imprisoned, that the EQ and Snow would both seek him out. This shows seems to indicate he knows the direction everything is going because of the way he keeps talking about this world or another world or wherever you go to Cinderella.

I agree with you. I think Rumplestiltskin was trying to get captured on purpose. It is very suspicious how he questioned Cinderella abou the “lovely red quill”.

Yeah, I bet Rumple knew what was coming, and willingly walked into the trap Cinders tried to set. Perhaps he wanted to be imprisoned in a magical mine to be protected from the EQ’s curse. Perhaps the fairy dust/magic wooden prison bars shielded Rumple from the dark magic, thereby preserving his memories of FTL when he was transported to SB with the rest of the bunch. Also, he probably foresaw Snow White would only come to him for help about the curse once he was safely behind magical bars. That way, he was able to strike a deal with her: knowledge about the curse and how to break it in exchange for her unborn child’s name: Emma. We already know that for Rumple, knowing someone’s name gives him power over that person. Now in SB, Mr. Gold may have that power, plus Emma owes him a favor in exchange for allowing Ashley to keep her baby.

I like your theory of the mine protecting Rumple from being affected by the curse.

You know that saying, “Everything happens for a reason?” Rumple takes that to a different level.

    that makes him awesome 😀
