I thought Cora might’ve married King George, who is about her age and very greedy, like the king the miller’s daughter married. Maybe they were married but divorced later.

Regina is the product of a lot of work by Rumple. If I have been reading all the clues right it seems that Rumple has been working a long time to get his curse enacted. I believe that Regina is the child that was promised to Rumple and loosing her was part of the plan. He set the dominoes up so that Regina would use the curse. I am also starting to believe that Rumple was the person who spooked Snows Horse. That one event proved to be the driving point for Regina casting the curse. I also like the fact that while Rumple helped create the evil Queen, it was the Queen who hid his one true love from him.

I think that you are correct in your thought… but we all know the WRITERs will have twist and turns to the plot in the future. I think they lurk on this board and read our posts then change the stories accordingly….

That would be funny. I always thought they did that with LOST. 😀

Miller’s daughter married a King… but Sr Henry neither acts like or seems like a King. Did Cora loose out on being a Queen and that is why she pushes Regina into marriage?.

It looks that way. The Miller’s Daughter story is going to play out differently from the traditional story. Cora marrying someone who’s not a king, but forced her daughter to marry a king to become royalty. You can just tell that something went wrong with her plan.

I don’t think Regina is his daughter, I think the episode was alluding to the miller’s daughter tale. Regina was the child promised to Rumpel by Cora.

I just can’t believe that Regina is Rumple’s daughter. This is the man who orchestrated everything just to get his son back. He stopped the Ogre war to save all the children. Sure he’s evil, but it seems with kids he has soft spot. I just can’t believe he would manipulate and destroy one of his children for the benefit of another. It just doesn’t make sense even if these are the writers of Lost.

I do think Regina is looking like she’s the miller’s daughter’s baby he was promised. Since George is going to be on more, it might just be that Regina is George’s daughter. George was hungry for Midas’s gold. Maybe he once had Cora in his palms and forcing her to spin gold for him and thus the Rumplestiltskin story comes out. Cora was so power hungry for a kingdom. She even advised Regina on how to grab power from her husband:

Cora: The king’s not a strong man. The kingdom will be yours. Raise the tributes, form a personal guard. Let everyone know where the new power lies, and you’ll hold the hearts of your people in your hands.

Regina: Is that what you would do, Mother?

Cora: That’s exactly what I would do.

Regina: Well, the thing is I don’t want to be you.

Turns out that is probably exactly what Regina did end up doing in the end. I wonder if Cora did the same thing in Wonderland. Maybe George went back on his promise of Cora. Or Cora was just a mistress. There is still so much we don’t know.

Yes, that is what I have suspected all along- that Regina is the baby that was supposed to have been given to Rumple in exchange for spinning straw into gold. That’s why he has taken a particular interest in her. I also think that corrupting her was part of his plan. He needed to get someone else to reach the point of making the ultimate sacrifice in order to enact the curse.

I think Rumpel was referring to the story of “The Miller’s Daughter,” > which was confirmed that Cora is the miller’s daughter from the story which makes the daughter, Cora almost gave up.

It would be just too creepy if Rumpel was Regina’s bio-dad.
