…turns out I have read MANY, MANY more interviews than I thought 😯 So it may take awhile to find it again.

At the end of the Disney version, the Beast is attacked by a mob and fatally stabbed, but Belle heals him with her tears. Hmmm…I’m thinking dagger to the chest via Regina and True Love causing there to no longer BE a Dark One.

OMG I could TOTALLY see this happening! Like if Smee or Hook were to stab Rumple with his dagger in Storybrooke, maybe Belle kissing/crying could save him and he would go back to the non-magic Rumple…hmm

Or even being stabbed by Baelfire, once he learns of all the evil his father has done in the 250 years since they were split apart. As much as I love Rumple, he does so many wrong things… So Bae (like August pretending to be Bae) ‘forgives’ Rumple, and then once he gets access to the dagger knows that the only thing to do, is to kill him, to save everyone. Belle either saves him, and the Dark One no longer exists, or she just tries to… And cures him of being the Dark One (saving Bae from becoming the Dark One) but because he was stabbed he dies anyways. This would obviously be very very veeeeery end-game.

That’s what I was thinking as well. I think the writers will hold onto the Beauty and the Beast element. True love’s kiss in the end will determine Rumpel’s fate. Hopefully, Belle will be close by when his time comes.

October 29, 2012 at 2:59 pm #158475the fairestParticipantI hope Rumpel doesn’t die in the end. I want to see him work for redemption instead of simply being killed and saved by true love’s kiss. I loved that Rumpel made an effort to be honest with Belle in last week’s episode and I’d like to see more of that. I want Rumpel to achieve true redemption instead of something rushed or unbelievable. That’s my main problem with Regina’s redemption arc. It’s not believable for me because it’s too rushed. I like that the writers are taking their time with Rumpel. He’s complex character and his journey to redemption should be equally complex.
