I’ve been re-watching some key episodes from S1 and picked up on some clues for S2:
- – Henry goes to Mr. Gold’s pawn shop for a gift for Mary Margaret and chooses a bell. Tinker Bell? Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis said that a character like Tinker Bell deserves her own origin story
- – Rumplestiltskin’s maid is named “Onora” which rhymes with Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty). We know we're going to meet her in episode 2×1 “Broken” based on promos for S2 Also, in 1×17 we saw Grace’s doll which had blonde hair and was wearing a pink dress, perhaps also a nod to Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty.”
- – The fact that Rumpel’s maid is mute might also be a hint that we’ll be seeing Ariel (Little Mermaid) who traded her voice to the sea-witch for legs. Also, in 1×12, Regina came to see Rumple “about a certain mermaid.”
- – Before Baelfire talks to Morraine, we see some boys play-fighting with sticks in the woods. This could be a hint that we could be seeing Robin Hood and his merry men in Sherwood Forest in S2. Also, in Henry’s bedroom there are pictures of various fairy-tales. One is of Robin Hood and Little John fighting on a lot. Nothing has been confirmed, but Jennifer Morrison joked that she’d like for Henry’s father to be Robin Hood, and we did see a recent promo picture for S2 of Henry dressed in a fairy-tale costume and shooting arrows like an archer.
- – Another one of the fairy-tale pictures in Henry’s room is of Jack and the Beanstalk. It's been confirmed that the beanstalk and the giant will be making an appearance in S2. Will Jack?
- – Just outside of Archie’s office is a picture of an old-fashioned wooden ship with sails. (Back in the spring, Robert Carlyle said to look out for it, since it’s a hint for S2). Likewise, the is a model of a wooden ship with sails on top of the book shelf in his office. There is another picture just like it in Mr. Gold’s pawn shop in 1×21. It’s perhaps a hint about us seeing Captain Hook in S2! We know we're going to meet him in episode 2×4 “The Crocodile.” Plus, we saw the promo in which the pirate captain breaks in Mr. Gold's pawn shop to steal back his hook. Robert Carlyle said that Hook and Rumple go way back together. The implication is that there is a lot of animosity between them.
- – In 1×21 we saw that Mr. Gold has several globes in his office and is planning a trip. There was also a globe in Archie’s office in 1×19. Perhaps the globes symbolize a more global theme in S2 by introducing various legends, fairy-tales, and myths from around the world. We'll be meeting Mulan in episode 2×1 “Broken,” for example. Another possibility is that there will be travel between worlds in S2. Emma and Mary Margaret get transported out of SB, and must might find a portal back to ours in S2.
Can anyone else think of hints for S2 from either this episode or others?

I like that interpretation a lot better than my boyfriends’ (he wants to take over te world). But really, it makes a lot more sense that we will begin to see more fairytales, myths and legends from other cultures on OUAT.
Yeah, I like the idea that they decided to include more “global” legends/myths/fairy-tales in S2. In 1×17, there’s a Chinese-looking door in the portal created by Jefferson’s magic hat. I also noticed in 1×20 that Regina has Chinese figurines in her dinning room (which I think are also hints for Mulan).
