I think that if Merida is related to anyone, her being the daughter of Zelena and Robin Hood makes the most sense. Come on, her red curly hair and her mad archery skills…

Eh, I don’t think a popular Disney/Pixar princess being conceived as a result of rape would have been the best move. Disney likely would have vetoed the idea in a heartbeat even if Adam and Eddy were that crazy to consider it. Zelena and Robin also aren’t royalty.

Maybe Morgan le Fey is what connects Merida. Perhaps Morgan le Fey is the witch that turned Merida’s mom into the bear.

I agree with Matt on this one. If RH and Zelena had been an actual romantic couple and not rape filled….insert your choice word here….then yes, it’s a good bet. But since the story was it was…nope.

You know the thought probably already crossed their mind….though I’d much prefer if Merida had a connection with someone new for a change.
Hook had the connection with Pan & Ursula.
Regina had the connection with Tinkerbelle, Maleficent, Cruella, and Ursula.
Emma had the connection with Elsa.
David and Belle’s was with Anna.
Rumple connections are with everybody.
I’d like to see Merida have connection with either Belle or Snow….Snow mostly because I can see Merida toughening Pre-Bandit Snow up.

…and I’d rather Emma end up being the one to save herself from the DO curse by summoning the self belief to beat it, so I’d be pretty OK with Merida’s attitude rubbing off on her a bit.
If they do go the route of Merida and Emma as friends then I hope Merida sticks around because I’m really tired of Emma developing a strong female friendly relationship only for it to be swept away because “end of arc.” (note: Yes, Regina is her friend now but there is no law that says Emma can only have one friend….)

Well who knows because thus far Emma is with everyone in the EF/SB merge and not in any kind of “dark” costume. I still think this is a flashforward
