Raise your hand if you think this will be the back half of the S5 DVD cover somehow.
Nah. My guess is that it will be a lenticular cover where you see the Dark Swan 5A poster when you view it normally, but it’ll transition to the Hook 5B poster (along with other main cast members on the bottom of the apple) when you move the case around.
Oh that’s a pretty solid guess. Yeah, I’ll change my vote to that.

I’m sick of them using the same “Face and Apple” template since they started using it in Season 3, and its worse here because they’re doing it twice in the same Season. You would have thought they’d use a shot of the Underworld with its messed up clock tower for the poster, or something similar instead.
Who knows hacking, there must be someone in the OUAT fandom who knows hacking, and can hack into the computers of the OUAT promo department AND DELETE ALL TRACE OF THE IMAGE FILE OF THAT BLOODY APPLE SO WE NEVER HAVE TO SEE IT AGAIN.

Once did used to do promo pics for season 1 and 2. They did some for season 3 but used the crap ones instead of the better ones.Season 4 we only got character objects covered in ice instead of actual characters which reeked of cost cutting but for season 5 we got nothing outside JMo’s face white face with bright red lipstick and the apple.
The apple wouldn’t be so bad if Regina and Snowing, the characters with the actual link to the apple, were still central to the plot in their own right but Snowing have been reduced to purely being CS’s cheerleaders whilst Regina’s only purpose on the show is to give pep talks to Emma. Every character on this show is suffering and it is only through the quality of acting that any of them retain any sympathy from the audience.

Keeper of FelixThe only thing that will bother me about the DVD is if the sides of the cover has Colin’s picture while it should be Josh’s turn, it will be so disrespectful for an actor who’s been on the show since day 1.

“Arrow” a show about the superhero called The Green Arrow *should* have an arrow as its logo. Like the Flash having a bolt of lightening. The apple for OUAT (an icon associated with one character and having no bearing on this seasons arc) does not. It’s a lack of creativity. How about the burnt bug? A burnt pirate ship? Hades’s throne? Heck, even just the flames of the Underworld would drive home the point. Or superimpose the rest of the SB gang below (because shockingly this is an ensemble show!) The apple (all shiny and pretty, which is…um..not what happens when you put an apple in the fire) doesn’t make any sense. It’s lazy.
I have never agreed with you more. This is sooooooo lazy. How about a tease for what’s coming? I doubt we will see even one apple in the fiery underworld, and even if we do, it’s not going to be important. Hades on his thrown would be great. Or if they want to do Hook, then fine. But then there better be a whole lot of Hook in the back half here. An entire cast pic would be great too. They did this with Lost all the time. But the picture changed based on where the story was. (Example: Locke’s back turned in the season 6 promo poster). So what about a picture of just the characters going to the Underworld with maybe Hook at the center or whatever. I’m hoping once we see Hades, we will get a better poster, similar to the poster I saw for the Camelot story.

If the creative team insisted on having a piece of fruit then they really missed a great opportunity here because there is one piece of fruit *heavily* associated with the Underworld and Hades in particular: the pomegranate. It’s still red like the apple but far more significant to the mythology OUAT is playing with in this upcoming arc.

RG, I’m sorry to say, but I don’t think these folks think that far anymore. Pomegranate seeds? Nah. Too complex. Too referential to nuanced things, like actual Greek myths. At this point, I suspect they’re thinking about things like “brand recognition” and how many DVDs will a close-up of Colin’s face sell. As to apples — hey, it worked for Twilight, right? Why mess with a good thing… [/sarcasm]
