I actually do think that Snow is responsible for what happened to Daniel. I don’t think she meant to do it. And because she was a child and she did not know the harm she would cause i think it isn’t right that Regina blames her, but i don’t think that changes the fact that she is responsible for Daniel’s death in some way. Cora still did the killing and therefore is the most responsible, but that doesn’t mean that Snow is completely innocent in this.
[adrotate group="5"]April 13, 2012 at 3:15 am #141975LisaFromOHParticipantGreat post, RumpleGoldFan! It’s everything I’ve been trying to say about Regina, said much better than I could. We all feel sorry for Rumple because he chose to send his love away yet don’t pity Regina who watched her love get murdered (and by her own mother)? My name is Lisa, and I, too, pity Regina (and Rumple, just to be clear).
April 13, 2012 at 3:59 am #141985rapunzelParticipantI’m totally with you all on the fact that Regina is a victim and of course we can pity her. I mean Regina really has had to deal with a lot (evil mother, slaughtered lover, betrayal, unhappy marriage) and in the meantime she has to see the girl who aided in her lover’s death have the Happy Ending she always wanted. And this as just in FL. In SB she has no friends (she isn’t trying, but it is true, nonetheless), her son straight up hates her and sees her (rightfully) as the evil witch and he prefers his biological mother to her, and she has to live with all these memories from FL. Yes, Regina has been able to strain Snow/MM’s happiness (for now), but she is just as lonely and angry as ever. And what’s going to happen after her (possible) revenge against Snow/MM? That seems to be her purpose, so after she follows through with that, what is left?
My name is Rapunzel and I pity Regina (i’ll be honest though, i’m not saying this in a compassionate way. Imagine what Regina sounds like when she says “pity” and that’s how i feel.
April 13, 2012 at 5:22 am #142001fairytaleprincessParticipantI agree that we are missing peices of the puzzle of why Ragina hates Snow. In Snow Falls she tells Charming how the EQ poisoned an apple because she thought Snow was prettier than her. There is a lot we haven’t seen.
April 13, 2012 at 3:17 pm #142035rapunzelParticipantSomething i’m curious about is when we think Snow figures out why Regina hates her so much. As FairyTalePrincess pointed out, Regina expresses multiple reasons why she wants to hurt Snow, but clearly the foundation of Regina’s hatred is Snow letting Regina’s secret about the Stable Boy slip to Regina’s mother.
The reason I’m so curious is because after Regina reacts to Snow telling Regina that she was the one who told her mother about the Stable Boy, Regina puts up that front saying it is okay, and it seems as though she has fooled Snow into thinking she isn’t angry at her. I can’t seem to figure out if Snow figures it out on her own as she matures or if there is a specific event that we will see in their backstory where Snow realizes that this is the root of Regina’s hatred.
I want more backstory because I was loving this episode and it drives me crazy that the mistake of a child would make someone turn totally evil and would make her want to kill this child her whole life (though it is debatable when Regina starts the process of wanting to kill Snow). There has to be more than just this and just thinking Snow is prettier than her.
April 13, 2012 at 10:44 pm #142081charmingParticipantIf and now this is just an if…….If Snow at the time she met Regina knew Cora killed her Mother and spilled the beans on purpose then will our feelings towards these character’s change? We all expect Snow to be completely innocent and pure blah blah blah but not in a bad way. We have seen Angry Snow via weird Rumple potion. What if Snow from the time she met Regina till she meets Charming was not such a good girl? We know nothing about young Snow….for all we know or don’t know she could have been a spoiled brat. She did want to go riding at night when she accidentally came across Regina and Daniel. We all ask who goes horseback riding at night? Maybe a spoiled brat does? Then when she got older she may have gotten worse or better??? we really do not have an answer to this. If it turns out she wasn’t a spoiled brat then there are still plenty of unanswered questions that only more stories about can answer.
April 14, 2012 at 2:24 am #142107hjbauParticipantEven if Snow was a horrible child, and we have seen no evidence at all that that is he case, that is not an excuse for what Regina did. The only reason is that she snapped when Daniel was killed. And snapped again when she learned that Snow told Cora when she asked her not because it was such a simple thing to do, don’t tell Cora, and Daniel would be alive.
Snow is a child and did not understand what she was doing, but i think that Regina’s reaction still feels real to me. Especially if Regina believes that Snow did it on purpose so that Snow could have Regina for herself and as her mother. Meaning it seems like Regina believes that Snow told Cora on purpose knowing that Cora would get between Daniel and Regina and that Snow could then have Regina as her mother. I am not saying that is true, but it seems that Regina believes that. That Snow did it on purpose.
April 14, 2012 at 2:42 am #142118charmingParticipantI can go along with that. How would things change if it were discovered that Cora did kill Snow’s mom and how about if Snow also knows of the plot and knows who was involved? so it isn’t plausible she did it on purpose as revenge for her mother? Is a little girl capable of revenge of that sort? I myself am not so sure, after all this is a fairy tale based story.
April 14, 2012 at 3:01 am #142125hjbauParticipantI don’t think that Snow did it on purpose. I just think that Regina believes she did. And i think that if Regina was ever to really listen to what Snow has to say about what happened. And Snow was to listen to what Regina says that maybe they could figure it out. I am not saying they are ever going to be friends, but maybe learn that it was all a horrible mistake and was not intentional. And i think it is a great theory that maybe Cora did do something to Snow’s mother, i also thought that it was going to be Regina who killed Snow’s mother, but maybe it was Cora, hopping to get her daughter to be queen.
April 14, 2012 at 3:39 am #142137charmingParticipantYou are onto something…. I will expand on that by saying maybe Snow and Regina both helped each other to get rid of Cora, whether it be banishment, imprisonment or even death; afterwards Regina like she did the genie blames it all on Snow or maybe simply they just had a falling out afterwards. Either or if Cora is out of the way Regina needed either Rumple’s help or Snow’s help. Beside Rumple is nbot even in the picture so at this point it is more plausible that it could be
Snow + Regina – Cora = Regina hates Snow.
Regina + Genie – King Leopold did = Queen Regina then revenge. She said 1 down 1 to go.Regina has a way of using people that is a lot different from the way Rumple uses people. She manipulated then and threatens. Rumple lets them think that they are doing the right thing and it is all there choice when it really isn’t their choice. If you need to see Rumple for answers you must feel there are no other choices even though he tells you how the other choice looks like.
