I do wonder if Red has another name in fairytale land though because when she met Snow she said everyone calls me Red suggesting that was not her given name.

Thats highly likely given that is what she said 😉 However Im only listing the SB names as they are the ones that for the mains at least connect the SB characters to their FTL counterparts

You even said the Liza comparison does not seem to fit and Granny does not seem to be intellectually sarcastic. Her sarcasm seems to be more direct. Parents usually call their children by their real or full name when that are annoyed or mad. Right? We all have full and nicknames, we all have parents and we have all gotten our parents mad at one point or another. At the time of the Liza incident was Granny really happy or thrilled with RubyRed?

I think that the way Granny said Eliza or Liza was sarcastic and that they were making fun of each other regardless of whether i get the reference or not that was the tone and the body language. And after hearing people talk about it the Liza Minnelli reference that makes enough sense to me that that is probably what they are talking about.

I totally agree with you (I dont even know who Liza is, but knew it wasnt a flattering name to be called 😆 ) – Granny was not happy when she called Ruby Liza, nor did she sound overly mad, more frustrated & in EVERY other Ep happy, ticked or otherwise (like in Red Handed for instance), she has been Ruby to everyone in SB.
Each to their own charming but as Ruby is listed ONLY as Red Riding Hood & Ruby in credits Im not willing to bet on her having another SB name- even in EVERY interview Ive read & seen she is listed under Ruby/RRH, no mention is made of any other name/s for her, so until I hear other wise from the EP/writer lips, she’s staying just Ruby on here 😉

The thing is i have never seen Liza Minnelli in anything so i don’t really get the reference completely. All i know is that Granny called her Eliza during fleet week and Ruby called her Norman Bates, when Norman Bates is dressed up like his mother. I just think that neither comment are true, but both meant to be funny sarcastic comments. I do get the Norman Bates one from Psycho.

Not that that has anything to do with this. Just found it funny.). She became quite famous through her covers and original songs.
Here’s her wiki site and you see some old photographs. Plenty of makeup.

Just say Litlle Red Riding Hood is a name that is no different than Prince Charming. Parts are true of both names but will you name your daughter Little Red Riding Hood or a son Prince Charming?
April 15, 2012 at 10:57 pm #142468surayyaParticipantLol Charming I do know a Red actually, I also know 2 Violets 😆 all 3 are their given birth names as well- but yeah personally Id never name a kid after a color 😉
I personally dont think their FTL names really matter TBH- its your actions in FTL that matter & get you what you want more so than who you are (ie PC turning his back on his wedding to go find & be with SW, RRH taking the tragedy of unknowingly killing her BF & learning from it to become a responsible adult who rules her curse rather than having it rule her etc)
I had to have a good giggle this morning when my lil sister (who grew up watching The Wild Thornberrys) said “Oh I thought, that was just cause Eliza Thornberry was able to talk to animals” Lol – so I guess depending on who you are & how you’ve grown up, Eliza can mean anything & be interpreted many ways & still ‘fit’ with the shows theme 😉
