We’ve discussed how SB was created when the curse was enacted, and as I was re-watching The Stranger, I realized that SB MUST be an alternate reality, and SB is still in some abandoned dimension. FTL could not have been transformed into SB, because Pinn and Emma were transported to our world not too far from SB BEFORE the curse was enacted- before the curse could have destroyed FTL and created SB.
So, maybe we WILL be seeing what’s left of FTL either in the finale, or later in the series. 😉

I’m not disagreeing, just not sure I’m following the logic.
May 4, 2012 at 6:15 pm #145478clockwatcherParticipantOncescape: I see what you mean, since SB could have randomly popped up in our world because of the curse. But, I didn’t think that she could transform the entire FTL world into the small town of SB.
So, I did some research.
I went on the transcripts link that Weedith posted, and found that in the pilot episode, Henry said (to Emma): “The Evil Queen did it [froze time] with her curse. She sent everyone from the Enchanted Forest here.”
So, this means two things:
1. The characters were transported, and FTL wasn’t destroyed, since “she SENT everyone….”
2. The entire world of FTL wasn’t transported to SB; only people in the Enchanted Forest were sent to the land without magic. And I don’t think the whole world of FTL consisted of the EF.If only a portion of FTL spontaneously combusted (for all the other FT characters know), who knows what could be happening NOW in FTL? 😀

The Enchanted Forest doesn’t seem to be that big of a place because travel doesn’t seem to take too long for the characters.
PS. I mean i think that the actual people were pulled in from all of the Enchanted Forest not the actual land. I don’t think that the land is like crushed under Storybrooke. I know some people think that.
May 4, 2012 at 7:19 pm #145486AliasscapeParticipantI get the impression fairy tale land is composed of realms like Wonderland, Oz, the Enchanted Forest, Narnia, Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory and whatever else.
The curse was cast in the Enchanted Forest and took all of that (the 4 or 5 kingdoms we’re aware of so far), however I debate if it really took all of the realms or just managed to permeate let’s say an eight or so of each of those other places. See what I couldn’t see decide was if the “sending” actually meant she sent the entire Enchanted Forest (objects, people, maybe some buildings) to what she’d transformed the Enchanted Forest into, Storybrooke. I think the boundaries of Storybrooke haven’t been fully explored and I personally think there should be like secret tunnels all underneath it a la Beauty and the Beast (80s series version), where there’s a whole other part of society because the absence of the other villains is confusing me.

That actually sort of makes sense- if the different dimensions all make up FTL, and what we’ve been calling FTL is really the Enchanted Forest (EF). In which case, all the doors in Jefferson’s hat could be the dimensions that make up FTL, and our world, assuming there is a door that leads here, would also be a part of FTL. Maybe then there’s a door to the EF, or some other portal.
Doors, beans, who knows? 😆May 4, 2012 at 8:12 pm #145495hjbauParticipantWhen i say Fairytale land i mean the Enchanted Forest. The original land where everyone is from. I don’t consider Oz or Wonderland as part of our fairytale land. It is like Jefferson said there is a long line of lands. Oz, The Enchanted Forest, Wonderland, The Real World are all separate lands or realities some have magic and some don’t. I think that all can be reached through the hat. Like Jeff can jump in the hat and enter the Enchanted Forest or he could go to Oz or to Wonderland or to the Real World.
I still think Jefferson may have just been pulled in because he is from Fairytale land originally and even though he was in Wonderland he got pulled into the Real World by the curse anyways.
Yeah and my post didn’t make sense i meant i think that the people were pulled in not the actual land and buildings of the Enchanted Forest.
May 4, 2012 at 10:20 pm #145499ms. pixieParticipantI like this theory, of SB being a different dimension from the Real World (we live in). And I like the ‘tunnels’ idea – since we’ve seen objects from FTL (or EF…) there (the glass coffin in the mines, things in Mr. Gold’s store, the hearts cabinet, etc).
I only wonder about one thing: how can Henry, Emma and August get in or out town?
Because, if it’s just the curse preventing people from the EF to leave, ok, the 3 of them are out of that, but if it’s another dimension, shouldn’t they be one of those “realm jumpers” to be able to do that???May 4, 2012 at 10:45 pm #145500clockwatcherParticipantWell, I don’t think SB is necessarily a different dimension. It’s almost like a world within our world. Where time was frozen. SB is a part of our world, but maybe it wasn’t before the curse. For example, if the EQ created SB when she enacted the curse, then it would be a random magic town in the middle of Maine.
But maybe the characters were transported to SB from the EF.
Either way, none of the characters in SB could leave SB besides Emma, August, and Henry because they were all cursed, except for those three.May 5, 2012 at 1:47 pm #145535charmingParticipantHow can one explain the glass coffin remains in the bottom of the mine. The heart chamber underneath Henry Mills’ crypt, and that cabin where Snow lived in identical to the one David and MM jumped into to avoid the rain before releasing the dove back into the wild.
Don’t get me wrong each and every theory in this thread makes sense, however everyone is not taking into account those three things that are reminders of FTL in SB. I do not believe FTL was destroyed and SB built and everyone just put there. Not enough time. The curse hit and then zap Pin and Emma were out. SB being another dimension, reality or world are possibilities. Yes, it was said everyone was going to suffer not FTL/ EF by Regina at Charming and Snow’s wedding. When it is said the world we built they do not mean actually build it but the front that was put up.
