I am just not sure about the time between Snow and Charming’s wedding and the curse. It could be just 1 year, but i really think they could stretch that time and add a lot of plot in there. And sometimes like months go by that they don’t show. I guess it really isn’t that important. It is only important if Snow is not pregnant for awhile after their marriage. Otherwise we won’t really know.
I think when i first saw the pilot. There is the scene with the war counsel and Charming says to Snow you are still thinking about what the Queen said and the way she seemed so upset about it whereas in the wedding scene Snow seemed more defiant then depressed made me think that Snow and Regina had met again and had another i am going to ruin you conversation. There just seemed to be an inconsistency to me there if nothing else has happened between Snow and the Queen but the wedding conversation, but who knows. They could just be talking about what Regina said at the wedding and that be it.

And then nothing happens for a while! The anxiety of knowing that something is coming, but not when, can be worse than when it happens immediately. So, I can see it only being nine months between the wedding and the curse. But personally I also believe more time passed between the wedding and the curse. We just can’t rule out it was just the nine months.

It was just strange to me that Snow went from pulling a sword on Regina to we are all going to die sort of depression. It just made me think that something else happened. We will see.

I love the new timeline and also the way of dating things (Before Curse)!
Oh, I know, I’ll still think of it as BE for myself.
I didn’t mean that I don’t like calling it BE; I just meant that I like the idea of using that day as a kind of “zero hour” for time in FTL. No insult intended. ๐ณ

No no, I didn’t see it as an insult at all! I just thought you thought I didn’t think of BC as being before curse. So, don’t worry. ๐
Anyway. I’ve re-watched 7:15 AM yesterday and thought about the time-line and where it fit. It obviously has to be between King Leopold’s death and Snow eating the apple. The thing is that I realised that Regina actually kills the Blind Witch through the mirror. She sets fire in the oven and the witch burns. When Regina tries to enact the Dark Curse for the first time, there’s a blind witch among the darkest creatures. I know she looks differently (and probably is a different actress), but I always just assumed it was supposed to be the Blind Witch and as they didn’t quite know how they’d portray the Hรคnsel&Gretel story, they decided for another look. But if that is true, then there’s an inconsistency. As the first try to enact the Dark Curse happened after Snow ate the apple and woke up again โฆ Can I just assume it’s a different witch, might the witch actually not have died and come out all shrivelled or โฆ
On the issue of using real dates: I think we should do 5 year (or even 10) steps. We still can put the events that happened in the same period in an order by adding 1st, 2nd, etc. That way we have a larger tolerance (margin, scope, don’t really know which expression is the right one in this case) to move in.

Makes total sense! I already switched what I had added to the new timeline to be in this format.
Daniel, since you made the decision a few days ago I’m too late. However the idea of “dates and times” as we know them don’t make much sense for a timeline (as you correctly mentioned in an earlier post.)
Are you using a database for the timeline? Or just a flat text file?
April 19, 2012 at 6:42 pm #142890hjbauParticipantI actually think i like the flat version better. There is just too much detail in the five years Before Curse to be able to see the line of events.
April 19, 2012 at 9:15 pm #142902Daniel J. LewisKeymasterThis new timeline tool allows me to make a “print” view that is totally flat. I just have to work with the developers to activate that view without making your browser print the pages. ๐

June 4, 2012 at 4:33 pm #148336Daniel J. LewisKeymasterHa ha. I actually changed it recently. This one is free and is powered by a google doc.
