Yeah we got spoiled in the fall. I really hope ABC decides not to do the second half of three the same way. It’s been brutal, all these breaks (I know season 1 was the same, but for some reason, this time around it feels worse.)
I think it’s because 2 of those breaks were each a week longer compared to last Season. We had to wait 5 weeks during the holidays as opposed to 4 weeks. The break for the Super Bowl was also 3 weeks long, when last Season we only had a 2 week break. It doesn’t help that we only got 3 episodes before that Super Bowl hiatus, when we got 4 episodes before it last Season. After having to endure a 5 week break, having another break after only 3 episodes just felt frustrating. Either way, the Spring half of the Season is much more brutal with breaks.

TVbytheNumbers.com posted their when will you know if your favorite TV show is cancelled or renewed?
ABC will make their decisions on May 14, 2013, afternoon. I already added to that my Google calendar.

Good to know. Also worth pointing out that according to By The Numbers’s Bubble Watch, OUaT is in the “Certain to be Renewed” position.

Yep, that’s when ABC has their upfronts. They wait to announce pretty much everything till then. Once only had its second Season announced the weekend of the Season finale, which I believe was that Friday. Once is pretty much guaranteed safe for Season 3.

Sunday, March 31st – Episode 209 – “Queen of Hearts” (Rebroadcast, but interestingly listed as “Specially Enhanced”. Wonder what that could mean?)
Well that’s Easter, so with Queen of Hearts… Alice in Wonderland, does that mean we will have the White Rabbit hiding easter eggs?… That would be fun! Eddie & Adam, make it happen!
And yes Phee, hiatus is a dirty dirty word.

I recently saw an idea which suggested having two complete halves of the season with a longer break in the middle. Would OUAT retain their audience with such a long break?

I know NBC and a lot of cable channels do it, but I’m not sure if it would work for Once. I also always assumed that another reason why there is a hiatus during April could be similar to the winter break. Many people are off for Spring break and are therefore busy doing stuff like traveling and just going out to socialize. Cable channels typically have less viewers to begin with, and can afford to schedule new episodes whenever throughout the entire year.
March 7, 2013 at 5:29 pm #177931spinninggoldParticipantI get breaking the season in two or something like that. But the airing of Once is so erratic that nobody knows when the next episode will be, unless you are a very dedicated viewer. And that is gonna lose the show viewers. People that automatically tune in each week, and then find their show isn’t there will be disappointed. I mean we are the fanatics, and will put Once night with big bold letters in our diary ( and put a pretty border of hearts and flowers around it) But if I weren’t this inversted in the show, just kinda liked it, I think the erratic schedule would mean I would miss at least half of it, and then you miss part of the story and because everything is linked in Once, the series gets less interesting, My mom watches too and she will be like: Who’s that? during an episode …and she saw all the episodes, only in double tempo, which was a bit too much sometimes.
March 7, 2013 at 5:37 pm #177932MatthewPaulModeratorTo be fair, ABC DOES clearly state when the show will return during the promos that air right when the episode ends. Though, I know there are some people who don’t watch the promos to prevent any possible spoilers, but those are likely in the minority.
