Once Upon a Time is set to start Season 3 production on July 12, but we have to wait a lot longer than that to find out what will be going down in the upcoming season. To help you through the long summer hiatus, here’s a roundup of what we know about Season 3 so far.

    Neverland Drama

It sounds like the Storybrooke crew will be spending some time in Neverland come Season 3. Jennifer Morrison (Emma) said about the new locale: “I will be interested to see how we are all impacted by that new land. I think whenever we’re in a place where everyone’s relationships are impacted by their environment and it heightens the stakes for everyone, it becomes very interesting drama.” We can’t wait!

    The Little Mermaid

OUAT co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have said that Ariel “could potentially be a Season 3” addition to the cast. We’ve speculated that we might meet the mermaid in Neverland’s Mermaid’s Lagoon earlier on in the season, but she could be part of a story arc in the second half of the season.

    Will Neal Be Back?

Michael Raymond-James (Neal) has been pretty evasive in interviews since his character fell through a magical portal with a potentially fatal gunshot wound, but we think he will be back for Season 3. Michael said to Zap2it on the likelihood of forgiving Rumple: “I don’t think anything is too big [to overcome]. It’s a story about family and love, I think that there isn’t anything that’s too big to overcome. Maybe I’m wrong, but I want to believe eventually, given the right amount of time and the right amount of effort, that all those things can be overcome.” Sounds like Neal and Rumple will have more time to figure things out!

    “Season 3 Could Be Anything”

This tease may be more frustrating than illuminating, but it still psychs us up for Season 3. Emilie de Ravin (Belle) told TV Line that, “Season 3 could be anything, which is pretty sweet” in answer to the question if the Season 2 finale will leave us hanging. Apparently, Season 3 could go in any direction!

Argh! I think that article created more questions than it answered.

    "We were happy."
"Because... it was born out of true love."

Hmmm, I think this sort of confirms that Lanie MacNeil’s character isn’t Ariel. My money is on Tink.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"
