Incredibly shocked. And yeah, I couldn’t find anything Camelot-y either.
So that Aladdin poster in “Heart of Gold” really might have just been product placement for the Aladdin Broadway musical, and not foreshadowing for Season 5.
[adrotate group="5"]May 11, 2015 at 6:47 pm #304599PriceofMagicParticipant1) What was your favorite episode of S4B?
The 2 hour finale, I really enjoyed it and only had minor nitpicks.
2) What was your least favorite episode of S4B?
Heart of Gold- Robin is such an awkwardly written character so a centric about him is not going to be the best episode of the season.
3) Did you prefer S4A (Frozen) or S4B (The Queens of Darkness)?
4B hands down. 5 episodes with no Robin/OQ drama and no Frozen characters taking screentime away from our favourites.
4) Who was your favorite QoD?
Cruella- I liked her sarcastic humour.
5) What was your favorite plot twist?
I don’t know if I really have one to be honest. I suppose Rumple actually having a reason for what he was doing (to prevent his heart going black) rather than just doing it for power or the sake of it could count.
6) What was your least favorite plot twist?
Zelena being pregnant with Robin’s baby- I thought Zelarian was going to be how they made OQ okay considering the backlash they got in 4A but they somehow made it worse.
ScarletBeauty- It was unnecessary and pointless. Belle said herself she didn’t love Will so why did they bother other than to create angst? It never went anywhere much like Charming’s dreamshade poisoning.
7) Overall grade for S4B and final thoughts?
An 8/10? I enjoyed it more than 4A and there were some scenes I loved. The Sheriff and Cora’s scene in the tavern being one of them. I liked how 4B focussed on the regulars more whereas 4A was too Frozen focussed. Anna started to grate on my nerves and was a little too Mary-Sue. 4B had that mix of humour, courtesy of Cruella, Cora, Isaac and the Sheriff that had been missing from the show.

Keeper of FelixMay 11, 2015 at 6:51 pm #304602PriceofMagicParticipantMan, I should have mentioned this in my post, but he’s been so underused I sometimes forget he was even a part of this Season. The most frustrating thing for me is that we had an entire Season of Will being in Storybrooke, and they still never got around to answering why he’s back in Storybrooke in the first place and what happened to Anastasia. If Anastasia is dead, just let Will spit it out already. However, the fact that they won’t just say that she’s dead does give me hope that she really isn’t. Maybe they did run into a snag with his storyline, regarding Emma Rigby’s availability. ScarletBeauty was also one of the most pointless plotlines ever. It was purely an obstacle for Rumbelle, and not treated as a serious relationship in the slightest. We barely saw them interact when they were a couple, and we never even saw how they ended up together.
I agree. The thing with ScarlettBeauty is that creates a mess of problems in it’s own right. If Anastasia is dead, why not have Will just say that? If Anastasia is alive somewhere, then why is Will dating Belle? Likewise, why did Belle date Will when she knew she didn’t love him? It was just angst for RumBelle.

Keeper of FelixMay 11, 2015 at 6:56 pm #304603obisgirlParticipantIt does look like we’re finally getting Camelot, and to my knowledge there’s no Camelot/King Arthur movie coming out this year.
Yes and no. There’s a new take of the King Arthur myth being filmed now, but it’s not due for release until 2016.

Still not being produced by Disney, so there’s little reason for them to intentionally do Camelot as a tie-in to a movie they don’t make any money from.

Eh. There is still time. I firmly suspect Dark Emma and Sorcerer Merlin are just the covers to the real villain. Like how we knew the QoD were coming smd then the author was the real major villain. So its possible an Aladin character could still be the real villain.
OMG I just realized something. THE AUTHOR IS STILL ALIVE O.O I wonder if that means anything….."I could have the giant duck as my steed!" --Daniel Radcliffe

Hands down, Sympathy for the De Vil. Cruella was quite refreshing this season. As soon as she was gone, I wanted more of her. This was the episode with the best writing and had fewer plot hole than other contenders for my fav episode. (Cough… operation mongoose.)
2. Least favorite Episode of 4B:
Either Best Laid Plans or Lilly.
3. Season 4A or season 4B:
I would grade them about the same. While i really like the development the Frozen arc allowed for, I would ultimately go with the Queens of Darkness arc. I really like how this season as a whole really conveyed that there more than one way to be a villain and more than one way to be a hero.
4. Favorite QOD:
Duh! Cruella! I loved that until we saw her centric episode, she seemed like the weakest of the villains, but once we knew her story, we see that she’s the strongest of them. Her twist, not being able to kill, really appealed to me as a viewer and long time fan of the show. Not to mention, Victoria was superb.
5. Favorite Plot Twist:
Isaac taking away Cruella’s ability to Kill, and then Emma killing defenseless Cruella. (Let it be known that i definitely supported Emma in those moments. Were someone holding a gun to my head, I know what my parents would’ve done. They’d have protected their baby boy.)
6. Least Fav Plot Twist:
I actually didn’t mind the Zelena drama, so i’m gonna say the Ursula as the Little Mermaid twist. Combining Ursula’s story with the Little Mermaid was brilliant if you ask me, but compared to some of the others it was a bit boring. Plus, I hate how that episode cut Ursula’s story short. They did it in a believable enough way, but I wanted the QOD trio around a little longer.
7. Overall grade:
I give S4B a solid B+. Even with the abundance of plot holes, I loved this half of the season. I appreciated the over saturation of villains and thought they choose pretty perfect characters for this arc’s theme. Not one of the QOD failed to move me… in their own ways, of course.
8. Most bothersome lingering questions:
How did Cruella get to the Enchanted Forest?
Lily’s father?
If they Author’s job is only to record, why did he have the power to change stories to begin with?
Will Scarlet????????????????????????? Come on! We deserved an answer to why he was here. He felt like a rebound in more than one way this season. Belle’s rebound, and the writer’s rebound. I tend to feel sorry for the actor, who is part of such a great show and never gets the spotlight.
May 18, 2015 at 6:05 pm #305018obisgirlParticipant1) What was your favorite episode of S4B?
Poor Unfortunate Soul. What made the first season of Once so magical is that a majority of the episodes from season were character based stories. There was still an on-going plot but the story focused more on the characters, where they were at in the story and where they were going moving forward. And Poor Unfortunate Soul was a great character driven episode. The Author thing was still there, but it wasn’t characters reacting to this new development and that. People actually talked to each other and shared their feelings.
Mother is a close second, because again, it was a character driven story. Plus, it was also nice that the Author stuff was sidelined for a bit.
I hope Once gets back to showing more character driven episodes vs. showing us the plot and characters reacting to it.
2) What was your least favorite episode of S4B?
Unforgiven was pretty awful. I can’t think of anything from that episode that makes sense timeline wise, especially the stuff with Maleficient’s backstory, Aurora, Snow, even Regina’s use of magic. Nothing jived to me.
3) Did you prefer S4A (Frozen) or S4B (The Queens of Darkness)?
The Frozen stuff. As overwhelming as it was, I think I prefer how 4A was more character driven rather than plot driven.
4) Who was your favorite QoD?
Of course it’s Cruella. She has so much sass.
5) What was your favorite plot twist?
Belle expelling Rumple in the winter finale. I have never been more proud of Belle’s character for standing up against him and doing the hard but right thing.
6) What was your least favorite plot twist?
Rumple getting a white heart. Adam and Eddy have to do serious stuff with that in order to make that storyline ok with me.
7) Overall grade for S4B and final thoughts?
C.
I need less plot driven stories and more character driven arcs. I sincerely hope in 5A that Adam and Eddy focus more on the core characters, rather than falling into the same trap that they did in 4A and overdo everything else and forget about their main characters. Basically, I need more streamlined, simpler storytelling. You can still have Camelot, Merlin and all that but please, Adam and Eddy don’t forget about your main cast. They need attention too.
