Loved the chemistry between Mordred and Cruella, I’m shipping them.

Keeper of FelixAugust 15, 2016 at 6:06 pm #326587PriceofMagicParticipantHmm… so technically… was the knight with Cruella Once’s first Flash-FORWARD given that it takes place 50 years in the future? that’s interesting. Whats also interesting is that Arthur is still there and ruling over the underworld. I would have guessed he’d have moved on after 50 years.
Perhaps time moves differently in the underworld?

I didn’t in S5B.
On another note, I’ve seen all the special features for the podcast review we’ll be doing later this week. Random thoughts:
–Commentaries: Listened to the one for 5×22 so far. It’s fine. Some fun stuff. But it’s also a lot we already knew/suspected/have heard before.
–Bloopers: Some really cute and funny ones. Lots of Colin messing up.
–Deleted scenes: SQUID INK! Also, there’s one scene between Regina and Emma that really made me rage/happy/sad
–Merida in SB: She’s not actually in SB for this….but it’s a perfectly fine little feature that doesn’t tell us too much.
–Once Celebrates 100: Surprisingly short and un-special
–Cruella and Mordred: SHIP IT. SHIP IT. SHIP IT.

Mmkay.
Just as a friendly reminder that this is what Adam said in the past…
@Sy_itwillbefine if they appeared on DVD, they should be canon.
— Adam Horowitz (@AdamHorowitzLA) September 2, 2013
AND what Adam said just yesterday!
we try to only release ones we consider "canon"
— Adam Horowitz (@AdamHorowitzLA) August 15, 2016
Apparently they are reclassifying.
@Sy_itwillbefine we are re-classifying. So we can include more material. Allows us to show fans more

@JmosDocGal the truth is we've decided this is the best policy
— Adam Horowitz (@AdamHorowitzLA) August 16, 2016
I have now gone back and looked and decided with eddy this is best and most accurate way
— Adam Horowitz (@AdamHorowitzLA) August 16, 2016
(these guys need some serious courses in philosophy, writer/audience relationship, and some good ol’ fashioned “The Author is Dead” Barthes)
This is so obviously a reactionary response to something he’s nervous about–some scene that is causing grief in the fandom.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 16, 2016 at 1:13 am #326602RumplesGirlKeymasterThe novels are still canon (the novels that, you know, claim Camelot is an entirely different realm that you have to portal to!)
canon — they were vetted / supervised by writing staff
— Adam Horowitz (@AdamHorowitzLA) August 16, 2016
Apparently still canon because supervised by the writing staff.
The deleted scenes of the TV show, as we all know, were in fact written by monkeys and NOT the writing staff!

So…just…how? How do you…how do they rationalize… I just can’t. The writers can’t even be consistent on what is or isn’t apart of the show anymore. I can’t even, guys. I literally cannot with this show.

And if this deleted scene called ” Neal’s greatest gift ” was written before 512 , means that unlike what they said about 512 scene being long planed was also a lie and was probably a last minute scene .
August 16, 2016 at 9:00 am #326612MatthewPaulModeratorMore insight, in regards to why the novels and comics are still canon, while the deleted scenes aren’t:
we design the comics knowing we want them to be canon. They are "final drafts" — deleted scenes are works in progress
— Adam Horowitz (@AdamHorowitzLA) August 16, 2016
nope. Deleted scenes are not final drafts in any way shape or form. A lot of work goes into them after they're shot on set
— Adam Horowitz (@AdamHorowitzLA) August 16, 2016
August 16, 2016 at 9:10 am #326613RumplesGirlKeymasterIt’s not about any particular scene, though. It’s about Adam and Eddy backtracking at a moments notice, without any sense of order or rules. They have no respect for us or our intelligence. They simply expect us to be sheep-people and bleet happily even if what they’re giving us is garbage. I mean, a book that claims Camelot must be portal’d to from the EF and is not a broken kingdom is canon but a deleted scene of–and take your pick here–genuine character building isn’t at least loose canon is nonsense.
Okay, the fact that the GA doesn’t always buy the DVDs and wouldn’t know about the deleted scenes is a good point, but 90% of these deleted scenes aren’t actually plot related or helpful outside of just sweet character moments. It’s not like the deleted scenes explain the show. The fact that they’re deleting character moments anyway is already absurd when the show is almost, now, wholly lacking in them, but there’s nothing wrong with keeping these scenes as little canonical bits when the majority of those scenes make their characters look human and not like stick figure cutouts being puppeted around.
I’ve watched the “Neal’s greatest gift” deleted scene and I didn’t feel that it contradicted much of anything, honestly. Emma felt guilt over seeing her first, old love while searching for her new love (which she did) and Neal “said it was okay” (which he did in some way–telling her he knew he couldn’t stop her but he had to try and he knew Emma would have brought him back if she could). It wasn’t about saying it was okay to go to the Underworld, but it was okay to love again.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 16, 2016 at 9:14 am #326614RumplesGirlKeymasterOkay, deleted scenes being “not final drafts.” Sure, I get that, but I repeat: 90% of those deleted scenes aren’t plot-explanations, they’re character moments. Character moments that, for the most part, make sense and add to the enrichment of the characters, not detract!
And, do I seriously again need to point out the number of contradictions and obviously flaws in the books that are somehow canon??
