Here’s the latest on the Spoilertv cancellation table. As you can see, Once is now in the second half of the list. Also, Blood & Oil has now made it into the ‘Likely to be Cancelled section’. And looking at the list, that makes us the 4th most successful drama on ABC (and the other 3 are all the Shondaland shows).
-Wicked City (7.79)
-Blood & Oil (5.13)
-Nashville (3.03)
-Castle (2.97)
-Fresh of the Boat (2.92)
-The Muppets (2.79)
-Last Man Standing (2.78)
-Dr. Ken (2.75)
-Agents of Shield (2.69)
-Quantico (2.61)
-Once Upon a Time (2.58)
-Blackish (1.95)
-How to Get Away With Murder (1.72)
-The Middle (1.68)
-The Goldbergs (1.55)
-Grey’s Anatomy (1.49)
-Scandal (1.48)
-Modern Family (1.25)http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/08/spoilertv-cancellation-predictor-table.html

I’d say we’ll see a slight uptick if anything, to a 1.6. But mostly steady at the 1.5

Not much of a difference. Aside from the Shondaland dramas, it should be noted that Agents of SHIELD also has a higher renewal chance than OUAT solely because the Syndication Gods will very likely give it a 4th Season. The Mindy Project was the first 3rd Season show in a very long time to get cancelled, but that was because it wasn’t actually produced by FOX itself. However, Mindy did technically still get its 4th Season via Hulu, which goes to show that syndication value still plays a role. Agents of SHIELD, on the other hand, is produced by ABC Studios, so it should be safe for renewal regardless. OUAT will likely still be renewed at this rate, but still that’s 4 dramas that take precedence over it for now.

Agreed.

Definitely.

We remain steady at a 1.5 and 4.85 million total viewers.

Steady as she goes…I predict staying mostly steady for the rest of the arc. We might dip down to a 1.4 (MAAAAAYBE a 1.3) but mostly, this is where we are for the remainder of Camelot

Next week will be interesting, because of the 2 back to back episodes. I should note that whenever we get 2 hours, they average out the rating for the full 2 hours combined rather than individually. We could dip a little, because 509 is airing directly against The Walking Dead. I wouldn’t worry too much, as that didn’t seem to be a huge issue when the 2nd half of Smash the Mirror aired against it last year. We only have 2 more weeks of 5A after that.
November 9, 2015 at 9:05 pm #312091RumplesGirlKeymasterInteresting article and worth the read
This year, the TV season has stretched into November without a single new title consigned to the rubbish heap -— something that industry watchers say hasn’t happened since the early 1950s.
The absence of cancellations is another sign of the tectonic shifts underway in the television industry. Thanks to digital recording and streaming, millions of viewers no longer watch shows when they are first telecast -— making network executives reluctant to kill a program that may be quietly building an audience that’s not being counted by traditional ratings.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 9, 2015 at 10:27 pm #312103MatthewPaulModeratorThis is what former co-founder of TVByTheNumbers, Bill Gorman, had to say about that article under his current TVGrimReaper persona:
Weak minded is the new black. RT @neilscully: Oh dear. Looks like the #prjedi have got to this site now too. https://t.co/byDKdU0Lnd
— TV Grim Reaper (@TVGrimReaper) November 7, 2015
The weak minded herd instinct of the TV media under the mind tricks of the #PRJedi in all the “No shows yet canceled!” stories is amazing.
— TV Grim Reaper (@TVGrimReaper) November 7, 2015
Shows stopped being pulled off the air en masse over the last decade because nets don’t have the $ for replacements.
— TV Grim Reaper (@TVGrimReaper) November 7, 2015
The fact that shows are being cut down from 13 eps more often this season vs. letting all 13 run out is a tiny change vs. the recent past.
— TV Grim Reaper (@TVGrimReaper) November 7, 2015
Yet the #PRJedi have the TV media mind tricked into thinking it’s some sort of “new paradigm”, the weak minded fools.
— TV Grim Reaper (@TVGrimReaper) November 7, 2015
The “cut the ep order” uptick is almost certainly due to better contract terms for the nets which make the cuts economical vs. earlier.
— TV Grim Reaper (@TVGrimReaper) November 7, 2015
Keep that in mind when you hear all the nonsense being written about the episode cuts by the TV media.
