    1) Viewers were turned off by 508 and/or 509. 2) It was the end of the Thanksgiving weekend, so some viewers may not have been home quite yet.

Combo of both if you ask me.

    *fascinating*

If we ever adjust down to a tossup, it won’t be until the Spring.

Final ratings adjustment for “Broken Heart” have yet to be posted, because it appears that the Thanksgiving holidays delayed adjusted ratings for the past few nights. Friday’s final ratings only just got released today, for example.

The final adjusted ratings are in for episode 510 “Broken Heart”

    Demo: 1.3

    Eyeballs: 4.38 million

Overall, a slight uptick in eyeballs, but no change in demo.

Something from the ratings discussion at SpoilerTV worth noting:

OUAT’s demo stayed the same, and Madam Secretary’s demo went up, so both OUAT and MS have a demo of 1.3, but MS has 9.96 million viewers, meaning MS has 5.58 million more viewers than OUAT with the exact same demo.

Or: why we always talk about CBS skewing old.

Can I ask something (that Google would be able to answer but I’m a zombie today)?

Do we know the actual rate paid by advertisers during particular shows. The real charges from an accounting standpoint?

Jo found the information, here it is

    Ad Buy in 2014: $136, 538

    Ad Buy in 2015: $155, 596

    Difference: +$19,058

    X

So, in other words OUAT is actually getting more money this year than they did in the previous year. Frozen effect? I don’t know, honestly.

Now it will be interesting to note what next year’s will be. (Because we are getting renewed)

What was interesting is for all we talk about Madame Secretary being no competition for Once, the ad rate wasn’t that different.

Here is the article for those interested.

I assumed the ad rates weren’t made public, so this is interesting. Also odd how the ad rate is actually higher for OUAT this Season, despite ratings dropping during the 2nd half of Season 4.

I did some comparisons with ABC’s other big dramas (which really just means ShondaLand stuff)

    Grey’s Anatomy (now in its 11th season–wow)

    2014: 149,523

    2015: 157,609

    Difference : +8,086

Not really surprising since Grey’s isn’t the Juggernaut it used to be, but still went up over the year.

Scandal (now in its 5th season)

    2014: 217,546

    2015: 224,509

    Difference: + 6,963

Well, no shock that it went up but I’m surprised it didn’t go up more. Scandal is one of the most talked about shows on Twitter and is one of ABC’s highest dramas.

How To Get Away With Murder (now in its 2nd season)

    2014: 146,113

    2015: 252,934

    Difference: +106,821

Yeah, lol, not shocking. It’ll go up even more with Viola having won the Emmy this last year for the show.

Other misc shows (so, not ShondaLand)

Castle (now in its 8?th season)

    2014: 141,560

    2015: 113,149

    Difference: -28,411

Cancellation is strong for this one

    Nashville (uh…season…4?)

    2014: 97,581

    2015: 95,871

    Difference : -1,710

Maybe not a cancellation but a shorter final season

I have been reading a lot of articles on how NIELSON’s is revising their entire accounting system…. They plan to count all forms of viewing … increase the number of households and people in their data tablulation … almost doubling what they currently tabulate. This comes after much criticism for TV critics and broadcast stations. I will post links to the articles if I find them again but I read them a couple of weeks ago.
