[adrotate group="5"]April 23, 2016 at 1:08 pm #321966RumplesGirlKeymasterThis is the episode I am most interested to hear predictions for. Obviously, this is on the heels of the LGBT episode which was met with….controversy to say the least. So how will it affect ratings?
RG’s Predictions: I do think we’re gonna drop, but I honestly don’t think it’ll be by much. People can claim to be angry enough to stop, but as we’ve seen over the years, significant anger-inspired drops are rare.
Prediction: 1.1 in the demo, with NO adjustments the following day.

Zelena’s gained popularity as opposed to her S3 self and it promises a confrontation between Cora and Zelena.

I don’t think they’ll drop that low. Don’t get me wrong, you could be right, but I think at this point in the game we’re down to the loyal viewers who will tune in regardless of what else is on.

People here said the same thing when the show dropped to 1.6, and it still went lower than that.
I think loyal fans are the ones who watched Wonderland till the end and the lowest ratings it got was 0.7-0.8 IIRC.

For the remainder of this season, I agree. We found our seasonal floor at a 1.0, don’t see us going fractional this year. Now next year….that’s a different story.

See, I always wonder how much the reception of the previous episode affects the ratings of the next episode. For example, if the previous episode was really good, you’re more likely to tune in to the next episode. Likewise if the promo for the next episode looks good, you’re more likely to tune in. However, if you get a bad episode and the promo for the next episode doesn’t look good, or you’ve had a couple of bad episodes in a row then you’re less inclined to tune in.
It could be completely irrelevant but I do wonder if the ratings of an episode reflect the reception of the previous episode.

They tend to work that way, yes. There are a lot of factors, but for your average GA, the previous episode and promo for following week do play a pretty big part in whether or not you’ll watch.
