Ouch. Maybe if OUAT is lucky, it’ll get an adjustment when the final ratings come out tomorrow. TVGrimReaper still has it as likely to be renewed for now, at 82% of ABC’s scripted average. That’s how bad the shape of the network currently is:
That being said, one of the World Series games airs this coming Sunday, so I’m not terribly optimistic for that night. Typically we go down at least a .1 that week, based on the past 2 Seasons. It’s also a monumental World Series, because the Cubs haven’t been in the World Series for 71 years. Now if OUAT does go fractional by the end of the Fall, that could increase the possibility of it moving to 9pm. On the one head, the reason it airs on Sundays at 8 is because its considered “a family show”, but on the other hand ABC might want to try airing something new in that timeslot to give it a better shot. That possibility may or may not kill the show. While it would be airing against The Walking Dead, OUAT actually fared alright when it aired in that slot as a result of its 2 hour episodes, with at least 2 of those being against The Walking Dead. Granted, a regular 1 hour offering could be a different story.

I’ve seen a lot of people speculating the same thing. The fanbase would follow but the question is would they follow LIVE or next day/later in the week. ABC has not exactly had any success with their 9pm shows but OUAT isn’t bringing in the 8pm crowd like it used to.

Trying out a veteran in a struggling timeslot can sometimes work. They did after all fix the Thursday 8pm deathslot by moving Grey’s there. Of course Grey’s and OUAT are in two entirely different leagues, so who really knows. Moving the show to 9pm would be bad news for Daniel, though, since that would mean doing initial reactions at 10pm every Sunday. lol.

Not surprising given the half hours. Hunker down everyone. With the World Series coming this weekend, I think we’re in for some ugly numbers.

There is a factor I overlooked. What’s scheduled for this Sunday is the 5th game in the World Series, but it may not even happen if one team wins the majority of games before that.
Anyway, it looks like Notorious is our first cancelled ABC show of the Season, as its episode order has been cut down. Cut down episode orders for Freshmen series typically mean cancellation:

I wonder if Conviction isn’t far behind.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 25, 2016 at 4:26 pm #329275PriceofMagicParticipantI’ll be honest and say I wouldn’t be sad if OUAT were to end after this season. At least then the show would go out with whatever shred of dignity it had left.
The low ratings don’t surprise me. It’s a result of the poor quality of storytelling we’ve had in the past few seasons. Season 6 is slightly better, but it’s like shutting the gate after the horse has bolted. The quality storytelling was needed a few seasons ago not just now.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixOctober 26, 2016 at 8:13 pm #329345RumplesGirlKeymasterBringing up the World Series again: if Sunday does turn out to have a game (if there’s no winner after 4) then the ratings will be extremely interesting. The first game opened very big with 18.72 million live eyeballs and a 5.4 in the demo. It was the best World Series opener since 2009.

It only got a 1.2 this week. Pretty sure it’ll be joining the ranks with the rest of ABC’s struggling dramas before mid-season. Honestly, I think of ABC’s dramas except Grey’s are fair game this year.
