So Designated Survivor seems to have lost a heap of viewers. It only got a 1.2 this week. Pretty sure it’ll be joining the ranks with the rest of ABC’s struggling dramas before mid-season. Honestly, I think of ABC’s dramas except Grey’s are fair game this year.
The World Series, game 2, had a LOT to do with that, though. The previous episode had a 1.6 which is decent(ish) for a Wednesday 10 pm show. By contrast the World Series (game 2) got 4.9 and drew about 17 million people.

Was the World Series still going at 10pm though? I don’t follow sports (and being in a different country I don’t have a clue) but according to all the ratings tables I’ve seen, the World Series wasn’t a competition in the 10pm slot.

That’s a good question. My TV box says it was going to 11 but I’ve also seen that it got moved up an hour, beginning at 7, since there was a rain threat. TVByTheNumbers says it was going from 8-11 so if it did move up an hour, then maybe it did end around 10ish (the issue is that it probably did not end at exactly 10 given the length of innings varies).
At any rate, the game likely played into it (people watching until the last minute and DVRing DS for the next day) even if it only last a few mins into 10pm. The real test will be the next episode, which should be free of World Series, at least.

Apparently the game lasted about 4 hours, and they even started the game early at 7:08pm ET due to the weather forecast, so it didn’t end until after 11pm: http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/news/world-series-2016-cubs-indians-game-2-four-hours-pace-of-play-kris-bryant-trevor-bauer/i2gia5nwmjlh1rsfthu2obg59
Something that also isn’t in Designated Survivor’s favor is that it took off last week for the Presidential debate, and it’s taking next week off as well for the CMA Awards. On and off scheduling like that does no drama shows any favors.

That’s a rough schedule for the only “successful” new drama out of ABC this year.

As an update, there will be a World Series game on Sunday. It also begins at 8pm. The Series this year had been bringing in record numbers
I am going to predict a .9 in the demo, a new series low and first time going fractional.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 29, 2016 at 5:42 pm #329455kranenParticipantI’ll say a 0.8 – possibly even a 0.7. I think it’s going to be a deadly week.
October 29, 2016 at 5:58 pm #329456MatthewPaulModeratorI decided to actually go over OUAT’s history going against the World Series:
Season 1
– OUAT actually went up against the World Series when it premiered, and defied expectations. This is a special case, of course.Season 2
– Episode 205 actually rose from 204’s ratings, going from a 3.4 up to a 3.5.Season 3
– Episode 305 also rose from 304’s ratings, going from a 2.1 up to a 2.2.Season 4
– This marks the first time we saw an actual drop against the World Series. Episode 405 went from a 2.7 down to a 2.4. Episode 406, curiously enough, actually went back up to a 2.6, but that was because the Frozen hype was still there.Season 5
– Episode 506 went from a 1.6 down to a 1.5. A minimal drop compared to Season 4, but a drop nonetheless. Though, Episode 507 did go back up to a 1.6.So we didn’t start seeing any drops against the World Series until Season 4, and both Seasons 4 and 5 only saw a drop of a tenth of a point. So I do think a 0.9 is the lowest we could go. Though we’ve dropped so low already that maybe the World Series won’t cause a drop at all. It really depends on how many of OUAT’s remaining viewers will chose to watch the World series. I do expect to go back up the following week, if we do drop.

I do as well. I think we’ll return to a 1.0 for 6×07
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 31, 2016 at 9:15 am #329542kranenParticipantSo I was aware about the World Series on FOX, but apparently also went up against more Football on NBC last night.
This is going to be really ugly.
