They renewed The Middle a few weeks ago, but that’s it.
I suspect they are going to wait until May with OUAT.
Historically ABC announces after the finale and usually in May …. they announce renewals and new shows they plan to work on …. This is pretty much what they have done for the last 7-10 years.

That’s not necessary the case anymore. Last year ABC announced OuaT’s renewal (and a bunch of their other renewals) before 5B had even premiered. It were only the bubble shows (which OuaT currently is) which learnt their fates in May. It was only during Paul Lee’s time as ABC’s president that all the shows waited until May. Channing Dungey changed that when she took over last year.
Yeah it kinda depends on the show a lot of the times. Everyone knew that TGIT would be renewed so might as well announce it now and start lining up ad buyers for next year.
With only a few days to go until the premiere, anyone wanna guess our ratings for Sunday night?
I’m gonna say we’ll hold steady from the finale with a .9

Agreed, since the last few premieres have tied the finales they followed. Maybe a 1.0, if they’re lucky.
In other news, When We Rise, that big miniseries chronicling the LGBT Rights Movement that ABC has been going out of their way to promote everywhere, is unfortunately a ratings dud. It premiered with a 0.7 last night. Considering all of the build up and hype, ABC must be pretty disappointed. Especially when it’s clearly a project that they’re very proud of. I myself watched the first part last night, and I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far. I feel it’s a very important mini series in today’s America.

OUCH
Man, ABC must be in a slight panic. They need to pray to all the deities that Time After Time does gangbusters (it won’t.)

And some of the reactions I’ve seen towards Time After Time’s promotion have been pretty negative. To me it looks like a poor man’s mash-up of Sleepy Hollow and Timeless. Honestly, my current prediction for a OUAT renewal is a tossup. If OUAT can maintain the same level of steadiness as 5B did last year, ABC may feel like they have no choice but to go ahead with Season 7 for scheduling filler purposes. Especially given the states of AoS and Quantico. American Crime and The Catch were already ratings duds, and I don’t see them improving this year either. That being said, I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if OUAT still got cancelled in the end.
