ParticipantAlso expected to come back is veteran Once Upon a Time, which is in a process of closing deals with four cast members who would lead a planned reimagining, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle and Colin O’Donoghue. The show also has been signing high-level writer-producers for next season.
If the latter means getting stronger writers, color me intrigued. The writing quality has far been the largest complaint about the show.
Definitely agree.
The remaining four would “lead” S7? I wonder what this means exactly. I’d personally prefer they aren’t the main focus and just help transition the show into the new storyline. Especially if their individual storylines are each “wrapped up” this season.

ParticipantI don’t know. This sort of seems like no new information there.

KeymasterReally, they’re considering renewing Quantico?
Yeaaaaaaah. That’s a weird choice for ABC. I don’t care how much they like it, the show’s ratings are gonna tank next year.
Re: negotiations. They’re still using the four big names but do we really think Bobby is set to return?

ParticipantI just seems weird that after all this talk it is just Josh and Ginny who are going. They haven’t had a storyline since Season 3. To me, the loss of just them does not seem like a big shake up. It also doesn’t feel like an end of the story they have been writing for the last six years. That seems like the end of Emma. Who knows though, like always, the disclaimer is the writers are terrible and they don’t know what their own arcs are and they don’t know what happens on their own show and this is an external issue aka the actors want out effecting the show.
It is hard because the arc that was began in Season 1 is not the arc that exists now on Ouat, so they are not finishing what they started because they quit writing it three years ago. I think anyone could go and anyone could stay. I think Ginny and Josh seem really out. I think Jennifer wants off, but might have agreed to do one more. I think Robert wants off, but it’s a job and it’s money and his kids live here now. I think Lana is doing promotion a lot and that might mean something. Who knows.

ParticipantI’m actually really excited to see our ratings this week. Looking at Twitter and reading comments on various articles, a lot of people that had previously dropped the show tuned back in this week to watch the musical. This may have been the boost that we needed to get people to tune into the rebooted Season 7 (Assuming it happens).

ParticipantI hope it got a boost – although I’m not expecting it to be a massive one. Would love to be proven wrong!

KeymasterI think it’ll get a boost but I wouldn’t expect a major one. I think we’re in the 1.0-1.2 range, but leaning more toward 1.0.

Well, that was not what we predicted at all!

ParticipantBloody hell. That’s the exact opposite of what I was expecting!
