Wow it dropped. The heavily promoted musical episode dropped. IMO that’s a clear sign that it’s only down hill from here.
If there’s a S7 I expect a big decrease in ratings wihtout JMO except in one episode.
[adrotate group="5"]May 8, 2017 at 11:09 am #337978MatthewPaulModeratorVery deceiving, given how it was top trending on Twitter last night, the album was doing well on iTunes, and then there was all of that promotion. But I guess not enough of the general public were interested, despite those signs. I think when not even a heavily promoted and hyped up musical episode can boost ratings, it’s time to throw in the towel and just let the show end.

Yes, end it now. There’s no saving it at this point, “fresh” story or not.

Maybe next time you hype up an episode, don’t release so much footage from it. You released footage of 4 out of the 8 musical performances! On top of that, you released the entire soundtrack on Friday, before the episode even aired. Maybe if you hadn’t done that, more would have watched live and had been genuinely surprised.

Yeah, I guess its time for OUAT to really take its final bow…. Very surprised by this."I could have the giant duck as my steed!" --Daniel Radcliffe

My husband who watches this with me every week was like wow that was a waste. My son laughed through all of it and hated it. Not everyone who watches this show thinks that a non musical show should do a musicale no matter how they promote it. I only watched it becasue I am dedicated to the show other than that I would have been nope. I also saw they promoted the Middle Musicale. I watch that show on a somewhat regular basis but will avoid that episode like the plague because non musicale shows should not do musicales. That with being paired with the CS wedding, which is only interesting if you are a CS fan which is the majority of the viewership but not all of it. In other words I am not shocked the ratings went down. Let’s face it the episode did very little to move the plot along or develop characters. Last week the ratings went up because it was important to moving the plot along and developing characters. This at essence was a throw away episode with the exception of the CS wedding mixed in and the dark curse coming, other than that what actually happened?
May 8, 2017 at 12:03 pm #337987RainbowParticipantAlso, they started promoting the episode like 2 or 3 weeks before, every single day articles and promotion about it, people at certain point were tired of that and didn`t tune in, after getting 3 weeks of articles and stuff, they should have done what they always do with episodes, not give the plot away, so people were like, so this will have Cs wedding and the characters, so nothing huge in terms of developing story about the villain to see.
The musical episode should have been in the episode 100, like a special episode before starting the UW things and the wedding should have been only in end , really end of the series, like last minutes and then would end with everyone happy.
Let`s see how 3 hours of OUAT will work this week, like specials talking about things the viewers already know, bc they done lots of specials like that one, and 2 hours of confusion, without people knowing if they are watching the series or season finale, Oh, yeah, this wont end good this week as well.

Totally agree! They ruined the episode for me. I didn’t enjoy it as much because the songs felt old by the time I got to see them in the show.
Was it up against anything particularly special last night?
I imagine that a cancellation is much more likely after this. They literally threw the kitchen sink at it.

Article after article (after article after article). Sneak peeks, both with lyrics and without. The entire soundtrack. A whole dang screening!
