This Season will not be split-Season like Seasons 3-5, but seems to be going back to the way things were for Seasons 1-2.

All future episode titles are spoiler-tagged, so that spoiler-free people can safely view this thread to keep up with the schedule. Bolded means these are confirmed airdates by ABC or other reliable sources. Italicized means these episodes have already aired. Which makes guess dates harder. Do we have a set date for the big ABC stuff that we always get off?

If we’re going back to Season 1-2 scheduling, here are my guesses:

– The first 8 episodes air, then the show takes November 20th off for the American Music Awards. The AMAs always air the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
– 1 to 2 episodes air before a brief hiatus for the Holidays in December. Or they could instead start the hiatus earlier, extending into the previous break.
– The show returns in January with 3-4 episodes. It airs for a few weeks, and takes off for the Super Bowl on February 5th. They may choose to take the week off on February 12th, since the Grammy’s typically air the Sunday after the Super Bowl.
– The show returns for about 2 episodes in February, but takes February 26th off for the Oscars.
– The show returns on March 5th, airing 4 episodes, before taking off for a Spring break hiatus. Easter is on April 16th.
– The show returns around April 23rd, and airs its final batch of episodes til the Season finale on May 14th. With the exception of Season 5, all Season finales have aired on Mother’s Day.

It’s pretty complex, to say the least, but this was once the norm.

Futon Critic lists OUAT skipping October 9th. It turns out that all networks will be airing the 2nd Presidential Debate that night, so Futon probably expects ABC to not air it that night as a result:

Granted, the debate isn’t even scheduled to air til 9pm that night, but there’s a chance that ABC still won’t air OUAT for the sake of keeping their Sunday shows aligned. They may also opt to have a pre-debate news special in OUAT’s slot. Still, it’s gonna feel awkward if we get a week off already after only airing 2 episodes. Better than getting interrupted for last minute breaking news coverage, which happened often for ABC shows airing during the primaries. This is why I hate election season.

But yeah that’s gonna feel awkward; a lot like how awkward it would feel to have a break after 2 episodes in S2.
