we are currently scheduled to air 10 eps in the fall. But the arcs don't correspond to the air sked.

22 episodes are currently being planned

Well that’s a nice confirmation. So, 8 back-to-back and then a week off for AMA’s and then the final two until the spring. The real question will be when the spring episodes begin; the first 10 will take us to mid-December and I think they’d give us at least a month so probably the last week in January? Matt–what do you think? And how would that schedule look with all the breaks for the set in stone big events?

It’s all very confusing, since both Adam and ABC haven’t officially commented on how the hiatus will work yet. Channing Dungey did say that she would rather not have very long hiatuses for the network’s shows in general, but mentioned that some will be longer than others. Who knows what she could have meant by that. Here are the options I’m thinking:

    1) Returning on January 8th:

    611 – January 8th
    612 – January 15th

We take off for the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.

    613 – February 12th
    614 – February 19th

We take a week off for the Oscars.

    615 – March 5th
    616 – March 12th
    617 – March 19th
    618 – March 26th

We take a Spring hiatus, which includes Easter Sunday.

    619 – April 23rd
    620 – April 30th
    621 – May 7th
    622 – May 14th

    3) We still have the long hiatus til March after all, despite OUAT no longer doing two split arcs. Technically Adam and Eddy only said that they weren’t doing two separate arcs, but scheduling could be an entirely different story. Some shows with full Season arcs have had split-Season scheduling, like Agents of SHIELD:

    611 – March 5th
    612 – March 12th
    613 – March 19th
    614 – March 26th
    615 – April 2nd
    616 – April 9th
617 – April 16th (Would mean airing on Easter again)
    618 – April 23rd
    619 – April 30th
    620 – May 7th
621 – May 14th (Continuing the tradition of 2 hour finales)
    622 – May 14th

Now option 1 would be very choppy, but option 2 would mean a very long hiatus and airing on Easter again. Both have their pros and cons. All in all, Sundays in January and February are very difficult to schedule around. We’ll just have to wait and see for more information. I hope Adam and Eddy get to elaborate at NYCC next week.

Maybe they are just going to having a really long hiatus anyways. They don’t want to, but maybe they just are.

I actually think this is what is going to happen now. It’ll be split seasons in all but storytelling.

Even tho was a prediction, didnt TV line mentioned February sweeps on their prediction? this would mean even if was not a real prediction, the show would be airing in february, but then again, they may be saying that bc of the whole no making separate arcs, tho in the past many abc shows had long hiatus but not different arcs, and if they premiere in march they will have 12 epis to air, which would be easy if they do a returning season of 2 epis and then a end season(series???) of 2epis as well.

There’s been a rumor going around on the SpoilerTV’ comments section that ABC is thinking of bringing back Quantico in January, but withholding OUAT till March. Not sure how much sense it would be to only air one show for all of January and February on Sundays. There’s also no bridge show announced to air in OUAT’s place like there was with Galavant.

Last year we got the ABC midseason premiere dates on November 16th, so I guess we’ll know for sure what is going on with OUAT’s scheduling within a month: http://www.ew.com/article/2015/11/16/abc-midseason-dates

It seems to me that they are still doing split seasons even in storytelling, only building the second half in the first like they did in season 4.

I’m pretty sure that Dr Regina and Mr Evil Queen will end in 610, and the second half of the season will be about Savior “Mythology”, Aladdin and Jafar.

Futon has posted the schedule for November 13th: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/listings/2016/11/13/

For the first time since Season 3, it looks like OUAT won’t have a 2 hour night. This makes sense, with the first half only being 10 episodes.

ABC will be airing Frozen on December 11th, so that definitely points to 610 airing on December 4th:
