KeymasterThanks for posting the ratings. I’ve been out of the house most of today and couldn’t get to it.
I find the ratings stuff a bit confusing, but the same site has the season 6 finale down as getting 2.95m viewers, whereas the season 7 premiere had 3.26m – does that not mean that this episode actually performed pretty well?
The demo is more important than the actual number of viewers, specifically the 18-49 age demo. That’s what ad buyers are looking at.
.7 is pretty gross but….Friday makes everything complicated and Inhumans did retain the demo, even though it lost viewers at 9pm. I suspect it may tick up slightly for next week if they promote it right.
It’ll be interesting to see what ABC *wants* from a Friday show. The previous Friday night show was “Last Man Standing” which got a 1.1 during its final episode. Grimm, the NBC fantasy show on Fridays, got a .8 in its two final seasons. However, I do agree that this is gonna be the final season. TV ratings fall the longer the season goes on; any show that increases in demo ratings/viewers is the exception that proves the rule. The *only* thing I can think of that might save OUAT for a S8 is if Idol totally bombs to the point where ABC cancels the reboot after 1 yr and moves OUAT back to Sunday (but ABC has sunk so much money into the Idol reboot that they’re gonna make it work if they have to burn the rest of the studio to do it)

ParticipantOuch 3rd place? And Blindspot will only air in some weeks, when the show premieres ouat life may be even worst, also, that generic idea that a 0,7 on Friday is a 1.0 in other night, is sort of hilarious,I mean abc had shows on Friday last year doing almost 2.0, so no, 0,7 is not the same as 1.0 when other shows are doing that, so in that case a 1.0 show on friday is like a record breaker ratings show.
However if was on cbs that counts viewers more than ratings, I guess the show did very well, but this is not the case, Although, I don’t believe they will cut the show, especially with a Netflix deal, where the show is a hit, and here they do count the viewers.

KeymasterThe other thing to keep in mind is something Matt and I said a ton last year–we have to look at the whole board, not just OUAT. ABC is losing Scandal for sure; The Good Doctor is doing decent enough that it got a full season order but their ratings are nothing to write home about. Designated Survivor looks to be 2 seasons and done with its current ratings. Grey’s is still holding strong but HTGAWM is suffering. AoS has the Marvel brand behind it but its ratings weren’t much better than OUAT’s.
In other words….look at the whole board.

BlockedRepeats for Shark Tank did better then OUAT on it’s premiere night. That is horrible. Sure hope Adam and Eddy are getting the call very soon cause this can only go down from here.
Get back JMO, Gosh, Emilie, and everyone else and end the show with a small amount of dignity.
Hopefully this will also teach them a lesson not to continue a show with the majority of the cast gone. Audiences will not watch it.

No I’m sorry, it’s not a good picture at all.
D23, Comic Con, TCA(OUAT has not been there since S1) all that cost money. The amount of promos aired every single day this week leading up to the premiere.
All of that was for a tie for series low that will become a series low and worse in the coming weeks. It’s not good.

BlockedI don’t ever take that source seriously, mainly by the people it’s run by. Some of the worse people in the fandom.

ParticipantI think the best thing Ouat has going for it is that ABC has no good shows except Grey’s Anatomy.

Are they reporting false ratings?

BlockedNo but they’re trying to suggest total viewership matters and the demo of woman are up. Those are absolutely irrelevant.
