I am not even a little bit surprised. Jennifer has been done with this show for awhile. I am glad she is out. I don’t think this show will work at all without Jennifer, even if Lana is in. This is a mess and they should end it. I would be fine with Emma dying at this point, but i agree it seems unlikely.

Yeah but last night was the moment of triumph for CS (a wedding!) and the ratings went down so this whole idea that CS is keeping the show afloat is…well, it’s not anywhere near as that cut and dry.
They aren’t, they have never been. What keeps people coming back is interesting storylines and characters who remain true to themselves. None of this is true for OUAT. The writers should have had an outline for the entire series and they should’ve stuck with it, but it was clear that they don’t follow anything, they don’t plan anything. A&E had something great in their hands and they just ruined it, I will be shocked to see these two ever run a successful show again.
This. All of this. Maybe ABC will finally realize that you don’t push a relationship because you think an actor is attractive. Have a plan and write to the plan. I can’t imagine Adam and Eddy ever show running again. They could get one more show out of this, but i agree that it is unlikely to be successful. They just aren’t good enough to show run. They aren’t organized enough and they aren’t good enough writers.
How do they keep Hook without Emma? He has no other relationships. How do they explain Henry leaving Regina or Emma? I don’t think this show can exist with a male lead. That makes no sense to me. I don’t get how they lose Emma and Snow and Belle and add on a male lead.
Let’s be honest…I’d rather ABC end OUAT with the little grace it has left than drag it any further. If Sunday’s the last episode of the show, I’m all for it…if we get a Season 7, I’m terribly on the fence with it.
One way I can see a Season 7 working would be if it’s about the “redeemed” villains finding their own happy endings, whatever that may be. And if Season 7 is about the villains, I can see a shortened S7 working with just Lana, Colin, & Bex.

Jennifer Morrison On Why She Is Leaving ‘Once Upon a Time’, Emma’s Final Battle & What’s Next
Morrison made her decision not to continue awhile back and shared it with the series’ producers but it was not made public until after last night’s musical/wedding episode, which Emma and Hook got married.
“(The producers) wanted to be careful to protect especially the musical episode, they wanted to withhold the information for a little while because they didn’t want to spoil the experience of the storytelling for the fans,” Morrison said. “Honestly I think they would’ve loved to have held it until the season finale but it was getting to the point where the information was in the universe and it was about to come out.”
So she decided a while ago, perhaps as far back as when she wrapped filming this Season.
Unless they turn the next season into a self-contained spinoff like Wonderland (which was awesome), I’m not sure how they can make Once work without Emma.
But I wasn’t sure how they could make it work with other decisions they’ve made, either.

What I really want Season 7 to be is that dropped vignette episode, but spread across a short Season. Actually deal with the stories that were left unresolved for characters like Will, Anastasia, and Lily. I doubt that’s a concept that would necessarily sell Season 7 to mainstream audiences, but it’s what I’d personally want. It’s what would justify Season 7 existing for me.
I like both WR’s and Matt’s ideas. Essentially let the final season show us all the unresolved plotlines and let us see what happened to the redeemed villains. Like, for example, Maleficent and Lily. Who was her daddy??? Was it the Dragon?? The world may never know! Oooh, what about King Arthur? Is he still running the underworld benevolently? Does he ever pass on? Will and Ana are ofcourse a must!

I think that indicates that either Emma is passing the savior torch to Andrew’s character or they’re gonna pull a TVD on Emma and then S7 will be about the journey to save Emma.
