I think the curiosity for what a Season 7 will look like, given the many changes, it’s quite possible the season premiere will pull a 1.0 in ratings. Afterwards, I believe we’ll tick down to a 0.8 by the second episode…worst case scenario being a 0.5-0.6 by the end of the first half.
Though with the new season, do you guys think they’ll split it like they’ve been doing the last few seasons, or go back to S1-S2 style.
It’s a curious question, cause OUAT wouldn’t have to schedule around most of the Winter events on Fridays, except for the Olympics I guess. I think Adam and Eddy will want minimal interruptions, though, since they actually lobbied for the split-Season scheduling for Season 3 onwards. So maybe it’ll either be an even split with a hiatus from December-March like the past few Seasons, or they could do what Agents of SHIELD did this Season by splitting it up into 3 split arcs (7-8 episode per arc).

Well im not reading anywhere, im talking about people that matter, GA with nielsen boxes that stopped watching and now they are saying they may go back to watch, if they go back to s1 where everything in the characters didnt involved around love interests, those people are the ones that matter.
Comments on articles, dont matter, 1st bc they are fandom and fandom means a small percentage to ratings( even tho sometimes networks tend to think that they are a representation of the GA, which they aren`t), 2nd they have people from all countries in the world commenting there and only american fans with nielsen boxes matter to ratings and appears nowdays in netflix, 3rd bc most of the times on those comment you end having fake people, where one fan has several user names to give several comments and finally last reason, even tho they say they wont see they will, they may say they wont but they will curiosity is to big to give up, even if they say to others they are not watching.
I believe @rainbow means that shipping was not the main focus of S1—and it was not. Rumbelle got one episode and Belle stayed neatly tucked away for most of the season, Rumple’s story being more about the mystery of his son and his entanglement with Regina, Snow, and Emma. Snowing was definitely the major ship of S1 but it was written into the DNA of the show and the main premise.
S1 worked well bc they had no memories, so GA people i know that have nielsen boxes and netflix by the way, say they may see again, in fcat Eddy said it on Tv guide that he hopes s7 brings old fans that stopped watching 4 seasons ago, and if we count s7 back, that gives they hope people stopped watching on s3 to comeback and that they may enjoy without need of watching past seasons, and if they want to watch they can do it on netflix if they want to.Having ships = / = the show being about the ships. The focus largely shifted to focus on the romantic relationships after S3A.
This is what i meant.
On S1 the only real ships were Snowing and they were the main ones and RB, however even in their epis in the past, during the flashbacks, their stories there was not about them, was about what was happening around them, not like what started later on, where everything about the characters interaction with other characters was about the love interest, the couples weren`t in the back with the them reacting to what was happening around them as main focus, instead was the opposite, what was happening around them was sort in the back and the main concern were what was happening with the couples, so having characters always talking and whining if the love interest was there or not, glue to each other, wher one goes the other goes as well, thinking about what the other part of a ship was doing, etc, GA, mostly families that still see the show, dont want to watch teen drama, specially bc most families already have teen drama at home with the kids, bc watching a show were they have adult characters, acting like teens, that they forget everything around them, except the love interests, is not what GA wants to see.
Even us, for example we have friends that always talk about their boyfriend/girlfriend gets tiring and they are our friends, so watching a show where the characters only talk about love interests and doesnt matter if they are True Love or soul mate or kindred spirits, is boring, the only difference is that with the show we can change channel or stop watching, with friends, we will not stop being their friends bc of that.
That is why having new curse identities and probably not having their memories and interact with other people, may actually good.

This is my prediction. They seem to like this format more

I am just not sure that that is going to make that much of a difference. Especially with the move to Friday and the loss of the majority of the original cast.
I am just really not convinced that the writing is going to be better is the problem. I mean as much as it seems like something new, the writers still don’t know how to write character development. It is really surprising to me how the writers can say that they are going to do something all new and yet the concept that we have been told is exactly like Season 1. Henry and a daughter he didn’t raise finding him and convincing him to go somewhere to save his family who have cursed memories. Except it lacks all of the interesting connections from Season 1 where Emma was the daughter of Snow and Charming and the Evil Queen was raising her son whose father was the son of Rumpelstiltskin who created the curse that brought them all there.
Now it is like a bunch of random characters that it is all like why are they interacting? We will see. I just feel like we have so little information. Henry is older and has a daughter and there is something bad attacking them in a future, something that is probably not really bad, while his daughter runs off with the storybook full of stories that supposedly no one will ever believe. This all seems like much ado about nothing.

But they are capable! Season 1 had great developed characters. Just over time, they forgot how to CONTINUE to develop them. And I would argue that Regina absolutely was developed successfully throughout the show. It doesn’t mean season 7 will have developed characters, but they did technically do it before.

Please note: S7 spoiler and S7 Gen Disc sections have now been opened. I moved a bunch of stuff this morning into their new proper homes. From now on, any spoiler articles ect about S7 need to go in S7 spoilers. If you have specific theories or general ideas about S7, please put them in S7 Gen Disc!
Thanks y’all

If they tick off people the fandom is not gonna tune in anymore so they need to tread very carefully.

Oh Rainbow, you have no idea what GA wants so speak for yourself. And I highly doubt what the GA wants is the same old crap they’ve had for 5 years with curses, new identities, and other trivial garbage.
And on top of that having 3 of our characters separated from all the people they love including their true loves and families. That’s not gonna please anybody I imagine, it’s just going to upset them a lot. I hate to burst it to you but that “whining” and “moaning” ,I’m sure anybody would do if they were separated from their wife or family and would just want to get back to them. Hook and Rumple we’ve seen for the past 6 seasons value family above all else. Do you honestly beleive that there is even the slightest chance that these two once they’re not cursed will not eat, breathe, and sleep getting back to their wives and families? Ditto for Regina? Think about that real hard, and if you can’t figure the answer is a resounding yes, rewatch the series or better yet just the finale will do. You see Rumple and Hook’s determination completely in there.
And I’ll do you one even further, in S1 this worked because they were still establishing the story. By now they’ve already established many of the stories especially for the 3 that are returning with new curses and new identities. So this can be very very damaging to Adam and Eddy, so they need to be very careful next season with what they do.

I was talking about the GA people that i know, so yeah i can speak for those, bc i know them and we talk so i know what their ideas are.
