[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 15, 2017 at 11:44 pm #345101RumplesGirlKeymaster1) What was your favorite episode of S7A? Runner up?
Favorite: By far “Beauty.” What a heart wrenching and beautiful episode! Bobby and Emilie knocked it out of the park and even though it was brief and in flashback only, the fact that the writers shows that Rumple could let go of magic and the dagger for the love of his life….exactly what I’ve wanted for years!
Runner up: Wake Up Call
2) What was your least favorite episode of S7A? Runner up?
Least Favorite: “The Eighth Witch;” ye gods, what a mess. There was almost nothing I like about this episode and was mostly grinding my teeth through it all. It was a convoluted mess and apart from Alice and Drizella I find that I don’t like any of these new character or at least have no reason to be invested in them.
Runner up: A Pirate’s Life
3) We met a lot of new characters! Who was your favorite? Least favorite?
Alice is by a long mile my favorite. More Alice. Always. She is quirky, weird, but somehow sweet and interesting. I wish she was Rumple’s daughter instead of WR!Hook’s, though. She’s got the Stiltskin vibe to her. Also, I’m interested to see this relationship with Robyn. I hope the writers do it more justice than they did with RubySlippers.
Least Favorite: Jacinda! What a big BLAH she is. Cinderella honestly isn’t much better. I hate that they cast a Latina actress but aren’t actually incorporating any Latina culture, dress, ect. They just want her to be Latina so they can say “diversity!” Also, I try to be respectful of the actors on the show but the actress playing Jacinda, while not helped by the writing, does very little with the role that makes me even want to care about her.
4) Who do you miss the most from the first six seasons?
Honestly, I miss the town of Storybrooke the most. By the end, it did feel like a ghost town at times but it was small and quaint and charming. Hyperion Heights feels too sprawled and unlived in. It doesn’t have the same uniqueness that SB did.
5) What was your favorite moment of S7A? Least favorite?
Favorite: Probably Rumple throwing the dagger to the ground when Belle says she wants to build their house the old fashioned way. I honestly cried.
Least favorite: I dunno; any part of the winter finale I guess. Especially when magical MacGuffins rear their while-elephant-magic-from-a-witch-who-crushed-the-heart-of-the-thing-she-loved-most head.
6) What storyline would you change if you could?
I cut down on characters. We don’t need Nick and we honestly don’t need Treamine because she was just a red herring and while those are useful for misdirection, her story wasn’t satisfying enough to make it worth it, IMO. I would also ditch the whole “Eloise Gardener” aspect of Roger’s character.
7) What are you hoping for in S7B?
For the show to wrap up. I know that’s harsh but…it’s time. And I suppose barring that, I really just want the show to cut back on some of its destructive tendencies (too many characters, too many plots, too many twists that don’t make sense) and just focus on the characters and their lives.
8) Rate and/or grade S7A as a whole!
I’m torn between a C and a C-
There are bright spots but I don’t think they outweigh the bad.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 16, 2017 at 2:16 am #345108WickedRegalParticipant1) What was your favorite episode of S7A? Runner up?
Favorite Episode: It’s gotta be Wake Up Call for me because Lana sold the s*** outta that episode which really moved me to tears, especially the scene between Regina and Henry when she expressed that above all else, she’s always going to be his mother first. And seeing
Runner Up: Definetly Beauty because Robert Carlyle and Emilie De Ravin ended their characters’ stories on the most beautiful note.
2) What was your least favorite episode of S7A? Runner up?
Least Favorite: The Eighth Witch! Rebecca Mader and Lana Parrilla were the only shining moments, everything else was just……just, next question please. It was a disaster.
Runner Up: Can’t really think of it right now….
3) We met a lot of new characters! Who was your favorite? Least favorite?
Favorite: My favorite newcomer has to be Drizella! She definetly adds a new spice to the story, and Adelaide Kane is incredible in this role.
Least Favorite: As much as I don’t want to admit it….I really think it’s gotta be Jacinda. I tried jumping aboard the GlassBeliever Train, but I just can’t! I guess because deep down I wish this whole Season 7 never happened the way that it did, but that’s another conversation for another thread.
4) Who do you miss the most from the first six seasons?
Everything! I miss every (beep) thing! You guys who’ve known me for over six years since the forums first opened know how I feel about Miss Snow White, yeah, I even miss her! That should tell you how I’m feeling about this Season 7.
5) What was your favorite moment of S7A? Least favorite?
Favorite Moment: “You’re the first person who loved me…”/”I’m your mother first.” from Wake Up Call has to be my favorite moment because it really showcases the incredible bond Regina and Henry share, even if he is twenty something years older and no longer her little boy.
Least Favorite: Too many to even choose from….but if I had to say it, I’d guess all the plot holes and unexplained time skips.
6) What storyline would you change if you could?
To be completely honest….I’d scrap everything aside from Rumple & Belle’s perfect ending. Keep our young Henry and tell the true love story between him and a young Cinderella….start it off from when he left Regina’s Home and went into the Enchanted Forest, and possibly for a better reason such as Young Prince Snowflake falling into a portal or something into the other realm, and needing to prove himself, Henry decides to go save him for his family…..however when he gets there, time moves different in the other realm and Prince Snowflake is now his age or something. Adam & Eddy could’ve taken a Supernatural sort of spin on OUAT, and had old members from the cast occasionally pop in every now and then.
In short, I’d prefer seeing the next generation of OUAT, aka, Henry Mills, Prince Snowflake, Gideon, Robyn Mills, etc. than seeing what we’re seeing now.
7) What are you hoping for in S7B?
For just a decent ending to this show. Like….it’s time to wrap it up boys. We’ve had a good run…just end it.
8) Rate and/or grade S7A as a whole!
It’s been a fun six years, guys….but I think it’s time for the big finish.

December 16, 2017 at 4:56 am #345123ry4christParticipant1) What was your favorite episode of S7A? Runner up?
I’ll say 7×04, “Beauty.” After so much back and forth with Rumple’s loyalty to Belle over the last 6 seasons, it was so satisfying to see them live out a full life where Rumple truly chose Belle over the dagger. The HH stuff with Weaver and Tilly was soooo good too. Close runner-ups would be 7×06, “Wake Up Call” – Lana always shines in her backstory eps, and Adelaide Kane absolutely nailed it and 7×09, “One Little Tear” – I really enjoyed the Tremaine/Rapunzel reveal and that whole backstory. Lucy going under was a good twist too.
2) What was your least favorite episode of S7A? Runner up?
My least favorite was probably 7×01, “Hyperion Heights.” It was just interesting enough to keep me watching, but overall I found it a little boring. Runner up would be 7×02, “Pirate’s Life.” I wasn’t a fan of the Wish Realm angle. While I like new Hook’s backstory with Alice, I would much rather they had kept original Hook with an arc trying to return to Emma and given another character the role of Alice’s father.
3) We met a lot of new characters! Who was your favorite? Least favorite?
Favorite is Drizella. Adelaide Kane is doing an amazing job with her and I feel the most invested in her story. Least favorite is probably Lucy. Allison is doing great as an actress, but I think they should have written her character to be a more mature 10 year-old. I think it would have made her more likable and sympathetic.
4) Who do you miss the most from the first six seasons?
Probably Emma. She was the heart of the show for so long, so her absence is definitely felt.
5) What was your favorite moment of S7A? Least favorite?
Favorite moment is either Tilly shooting Rumple and saying “because you told me too!” or the reveal that Tremaine was Rapunzel, mostly because it was a bold move making a “Disney” princess a villain, and I’d predicted it since 7×01. One of my least favorites was discovering Rogers was actually Wish Hook and not original Hook.
6) What storyline would you change if you could?
As much as I love Rumple and Robert Carlyle, I think I would have ended his arc with him dying and being with Belle and Neal in the afterlife. I think that’s where he’ll end up by season’s end, but there’s just no reason (other than wanting to keep RC on the show) that after Rumple had finally fully embraced his true love with Belle, that a final True Love’s Kiss shouldn’t have broken his Dark One Curse for good. That would have been the perfect bookend/come full-circle form “Skin Deep.”
7) What are you hoping for in S7B?
Lots of answers! LOL I hope they show and explain:
– the wonky timeline and everyone’s ages
– the reason Henry will die if the curse is broken and why Lucy will die if it isn’t
– flashbacks of Rapunzel/Tremaine growing distant with and hateful toward Drizella and Ella – perhaps during the time Marcus was searching and after. I want the time gaps of “One Little Tear” filled in.
– Cecelia traveling to Wonderland and finding out there was more to her story than Alice told Ella.
– Rumple finally being rid of the dagger and reunited with Belle and Neal in the afterlife.
– More new characters introduced that are OUAT’s first iteration of them.8) Rate and/or grade S7A as a whole!
Honestly, I may be in the minority here, but I’ve really enjoyed 7A as a whole, much more than I was expecting to. It got off to a bit of a rough start with the first couple episodes, but I’ve felt very much engaged by the characters and their stories since. 7×10 was not good or satisfying as a mid-season finale, but I’m hopeful it will be better in light of the whole season once more questions are answered. I’d give it a B+.

1) the one where Regina wakes up. Runner up: ep 9.
2) ep 10. Runner up: the rape episode.
3) Favorite new character is Alice. Least favorite is Cinderella 2
4) Archie, Robin Hood, EQ, Maleficient, the mirror
5) Regina waking up. Least favorite: the rape
6) most of it. The rape. The resistance. Henry’s rushed romance with Cinderella. How the curse was cast. Drizella’s magical ability coming out of nowhere. It not being clear about who rejected who between Tremaine and Drizella. Ana being the guardian (she hasn’t suffered enough to be one), the messed up Timeline that the writers can’t be bothered to explain, it just goes on and on….
7)Answers to all the questions they have created in this season, and filling all the plotholes (which will never happen). A love interest for Regina that is NOT Dr. Facillier.
8) 6/10

I completely forgot about this plot point. Since Lady Tremaine is now on their side (?????) does that mean the Resistance is over? Did it even really get off the ground??

well exactly. we didn’t really see them resist much, did we?
I think Tremaine is now on their side, yes.
*****One more thing I forgot to add:
Whatever happened to Tremaine’s plan to move everyone out to disperse them????*****
Keeper of Regina's bravery
December 16, 2017 at 12:25 pm #345164hjbauParticipant3) We met a lot of new characters! Who was your favorite? Least favorite?
I like Drizella and Alice. I don’t like Drizella’s accent, but if i pretend that isn’t happening she has had the most interesting storyline, though they need to do a much better job explaining her issues with her mother. I am hoping now that they are trapped in the well together, that that will happen. I do like Alice, but she has not been properly developed. I don’t like any version of Hook, so her being related to him is the low point. I am looking forward to them showing her relationship with Robyn even though i am not convinced that they will do a very good job with that. Robyn being related to Zelena and Regina and therefore them being invested in Alice’s well being because of her relationship with Robyn is a better connection.
4) Who do you miss the most from the first six seasons?
The show does not work without a good female protagonist. That was Emma and Snow in the early seasons, then just Emma later on. Ella is unlikable. They have not developed her in any ways that would make her interesting. We still know too little about her past. We still know too little about how she really thinks. Her being cursed just makes all of this wasted time spent on her on again/off again with Henry and her fighting with Tremaine and with her behavior all being because she is cursed and so everything she does is pointless.
Even in the flashbacks, she is not at all like Snow, which was the pitch. She has a sword, but all she did was try to kill a guy that didn’t deserve to be killed in the first episode and then join a resistance that has done nothing and we know is going to go no where because now Tremaine is working with them. Snow was strong in Season 1 because we saw her going toe to toe with Regina and it was awesome, and while it wasn’t perfectly written, there was real loss and anger and depth behind their feud. There is none of that with Ella and Tremaine. We also saw Snow and Charming fall in love and it was sweet and you got why they would like each other, we have seen nothing that would make me think that Henry would like Ella except she is pretty.
This show does not work without Emma and it hasn’t worked without Snow for many seasons, in my opinion. The show needs that main female protagonist not just varying degrees of villains that go from evil rapist to some form of crazy. Henry cannot take this spot. It had to be Ella and her character has not remotely filled the hole in this show.
6) What storyline would you change if you could?
For me, the one thing i would change would be them wasting time this season finishing off the characters that were gone. Emma should have died or been finished off last season. She should not have been in this half at all. I know people like that Rumpel episode, but that should have happened either last season or been the second episode, and then been done with. They spent way too much time in the early episodes on characters that no longer matter like Emma and real Hook and Belle. They needed to spend all that wasted time on developing Ella first and foremost as a character in her own right and then on developing Henry and Ella’s relationship.
In Season 1 the show was hardcore in the first episodes, showing us who Emma was, showing us she wanted to protect Henry, showing us that she was willing to help others, showing her going to toe to toe with Regina just like her mother. In the early seasons we are immediately introduced to Snow and Charming and we see them fall in love in pretty much in one episode and it worked. The blanks were filled in over time, but that one episode was the stage that the entire relationship was developed on. We are shown Emma and Snow having important conversations about Henry by the second episode. We saw Regina’s development as the villain with a backstory in the second episode. The new Ouat in Season 7 waste those early episodes on characters that are no longer important to the show. That should have all been finished last season.
7) What are you hoping for in S7B?
Character development is always my wish. I want them to give Ella a personality and show us how she ticks. They should explain how she feels about what happened with her parents, how she feels about her mother leaving, how she feels about Anastasia almost dying, and how she feels about Drizella. Does she consider Drizella her sister and Tremaine like a mother? There can be no growth till they show us where she is at. I want them to have Drizella and Tremaine talk about their issues. I want them to show Henry and Ella fall in love. I want them to show Alice and Robyn fall in love. I want them to show Gothel’s motivation and show us what she is doing and why. It is rough because there is really nothing i want out of Regina, Rumpel, or Zelena. They are fun characters to move around, but there isn’t a lot of development going on there with any of them. Hook, whether fake or not, always just needs to die. He won’t, but i will never stop hoping for it.
8) Rate and/or grade S7A as a whole!
This show is a fail as it has been for about four years. There is no proper character development. The characters choices don’t move the plot forward. This episode with its like eight random plot objects proves that. The characters never have real choices. They introduced all these new characters and for most of the we don’t know enough about them to even discuss what they might do. Character development. World building. It is a whole thing and the writers should start doing it.
December 16, 2017 at 9:36 pm #345191RumplesGirlKeymasterThe show does not work without a good female protagonist.
Yes this is a pretty good point. Alice is grand but she’s not leading the show like Emma did. And I personally really like Andrew J West as Henry but making the lead a male has certain….diminishing returns on this show.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 16, 2017 at 11:37 pm #345195hjbauParticipantIt is hard for me too. I wanted to like Ella. I wanted to be invested in that. I wanted to give Henry a chance. I just think there is no way to replace Emma with Henry. Andrew West is not even remotely as good an actor as Jennifer Morrison. I have liked him as Henry, but there is no emotion and no depth in it. There is no spark between him and all the other characters like there was with Emma.
They had to have a female protagonist, in my opinion. That is the show. That is the audience. It had to be Ella and they haven’t given her enough screen time, she has barely been developed, and the majority of the screen time she has been cursed, so it is pointless. Ella should not have been cursed. The majority of the villains aren’t cursed, so why not have Ella not be cursed. They could have worked around it. It may have been harder, but it would have been better.
They are definitely treating Henry more like the protagonist then Ella and that just does not work. I don’t think that Dania Ramirez has been that great of an actor, but, honestly, it is hard to even know because what she has been given has been so bad. This show has been awful for years, but this is such a huge mistake.
It is so frustrating to read the writers talking about the characters that the audience are liking because, of course, no one is liking Ella, they never wrote for her and when she had some time, they wrote her completely unlikable and then they turn around and wonder why no one is interested in her. It is the same problem with the first Ouat. They quit writing for real Emma and for Bae and for Snow and wondered why their audience was talking about them less, when it was the writers that caused that to happen by writing badly for them in the first place.
It is always the bad writing of good characters that destroys the show. The writers do this to themselves.
