Jennifer Morrison’s Interview with Séries MagThere’s also a certain pressure in doing Frozen since it hasn’t been done hundred of times before like the older fairy tales, but she’s confident A&E will do an amazing job of including its characters to the OUAT storyline. She loves the music and the story of two sisters that Frozen brought. She has a sister of her own, and they’re really close, and she can’t wait to see what they do with it. (She’s also laughing when she says she’s glad she’s not playing Elsa because of the pressure of the role.
On seeing all these characters (Snow, Frankenstein, Evil Queen, etc) in the same series: It was easy to imagine because this is how the show was presented to her. She recalls the scene in season 1 where you saw all the different doors — 13 if she remembers correctly — leading to different realms and she thinks the writers might explore all of them.
The show’s timeline can be complicated to work with,b ut they have an amazing team behind them to help them if they have a hard time placing a scene in context. The actors are also in general really good to remember everything that happens.
On coming back to How I Met Your Mother (season 9 ep 21): She was overjoyed that they wanted her to come back for the end. The last sequence of was filmed in one go. Pamela Fryman (who directed almost all the episodes of HIMYM) is a genius! “I want to be Pan Fryman when I grow up. She’s the most incredible human being I ever met.” The scenes were filmed one next to the other and the camera was on an oval rail, and they rehearsed for their timing to be perfect. It was almost like doing theatre. “Pan did the impossible.”
She would love to direct on OUAT, but she doubts she ever will because her contract doesn’t include directing. If they say yes to her, they have to say yes to the other actors, and that could get complicated. But she intends to go into directing later in her life. She made a short film recently that is currently in the editing stage. She will soon present it to some festivals.
Lana Parrilla’s Interview with Séries MagShe didn’t expect the success of OUAT. She was auditioning for another role when the casting director told her he wanted her to play the Evil Queen. Four days later, she was auditioning for Regina, and that her agent called her saying ‘Hello Regina.’ She thought it was a wrong number at first. But she was still skeptical because she had been in 7 series before and none of them lasted so…
The president of ABC looked at her audition tapes because he didn’t think she could play a villain. Lana really wanted to play Regina even if the show didn’t work out.
On ‘good’ season 3 Regina: She didn’t know how Regina would turn out in season 1, but she had a feeling the writers would flesh her ouat because a one-dimension character is not very interesting for a whole series, and is boring for an actor to play. 3A Regina is a very protective mother and Lana loves playing her vulnerable side, “her love for Henry, Robin, and even Snow.”
On her ‘love’ for Snow: She loves Mary Margaret as much as she hates her. Regina raised her for many years, but Snow was also responsible for taking away her destiny. Same thing goes for Emma — they need to learn to coexist because of Henry. Lana says she tries to give more dept to Regina and the Queen every time she plays her. It makes her more interesting.
She hates her 6 inch heels, but she likes that it allows Regina to tower over everyone. She loves her corsets, but she can’t eat when she has them on. She has to stick to drinking, and it’s getting long when she has to wear them for 14 hours.
She’s an actor first. She doesn’t decide where the character is going. However, she calls the writers and asks them to explain if she doesn’t understand something. And they’ve taken some of her comments to improve the character. Worst case, if she plays something that she doesn’t really feel and they don’t like it, they it ends on the cutting room floor. “Advantages of television!” She loves where Regina is in season 3. “She’s grown a lot.”
On modern movies and TV showing the side of the villains of the story: She thinks it’s a way of showing that, even if you’re evil or do bad things at one point in your life, people change. The world is not black and white; it’s way too complex for that. Everyone can become a better person.
On Regina being Queen and mayor without being elected: Regina is a republican, and Lana’s a democrat. She watched some of Sarah Palin’s speeches to prepare the role.
Sean Maguire’s Interview with Séries MagTom Ellis was busy when they decided to bring Robin Hood back. It didn’t feel hard to replace him. The cast and crew of OUAT are very welcoming. There’s no ego in-between the actors. They’re all far away from home in Vancouver, so they hang out together a lot during filming.
He says that Robin Hood should be British.
On OUAT’s Robin Hood being more gentle than the typical Robin: It wasn’t his choice, it was in the script. Robin Hood was Robin of Locksley before being a thief, so he’s a noble and he speaks well and has good education.
Important elements of Robin’s personality: First, he’s a father. He’s also a natural leader. He’s not afraid of anything, but he also doesn’t have magic. He’s a simple man with good virtues and a great sense of humanity. “And he falls in love for the second time in his life.”</li>
Despite his strength of character, he’s vulnerable when it comes to his son. He’s a single dad and Sean thinks this is what people like about Robin because even if it’s something rare in fairy tales, it’s common in our world.
On the Outlaw Queen relationship: These two are different in appearance, but they are very similar when you look deeper. They’re both single parents that lost the love of their lives. They are strong leaders who don’t scare easily. “And you’ll see, when they are together, there’s an clear attraction between the two characters.”
On whether or not they are actually meant to be together: Sean said that everything can happen with OUAT. Marian comes back and Robin goes to hug her, but “what kind of love is it? If you saw a loved one come back from the dead, wouldn’t your first reaction be to hold them in your arms?”
His bow is two meters long and it can be dangerous on set. He’s always apologizing because he almost hits people with it.
He doesn’t know what’s going to happen in season 4.Source: http://aurore59.tumblr.com/post/90860578094
