This has been driving me crazy now that we learned more in the season finale.
So according to K and H, Gold only remembered everything when he heard Emma’s name at Granny’s B and B. That means he could not have specifically gone looking to bring Emma’s child back to Regina. More importantly, it appears that Gold needed the curse to be broken so he could leave SB in order to go looking for Bae which means that he could not have left SB to get Henry in the first place.
But, Regina and Gold had that conversation under her apple tree about him procuring Henry which means that someone on the outside must have been working with Gold to bring Henry to SB? But did we ever establish whether Regina actually requested a baby? Did she want to adopt a baby or did Gold just one day appear with one and give Henry to her?
The only other people who knew who Emma was were August (who didn’t know where she was until she had already arrived back in SB), the Blue Fairy (who I beleive has always remembered who she was), and Jefferson (but because he needed Emma to make a hat it seems as if he wouldn’t have been able to realm jump and get outside SB to help Gold get baby Henry). So did the Blue Fairy actually somehow bring Henry to SB? That would make sense since she is a nun in SB. Nuns often run orphanages so she could have been in touch with an orphanage outside of SB and had Henry brought to the outskirts of SB where she received him and then gave him to Gold to deliver to Regina. Maybe as part of some kind of deal?
I’m just thinking that BF had to be involved in this somehow now because I get the feeling she has known who she was from the very beginning and she would want a way to bring Emma to SB. Maybe she has a way to contact other fairies in other lands (like Neverland)?

Yes, we saw her lie at the war council (Pilot), but she acted all “not knowing” in The Finale! Doesn’t make sense if she remembered. She could still have gotten Henry in exactly the manner you discribed without knowing who he was and on orders of Gold.
It could also be that Henry’s father has something to do with it. We still don’t know if he’s from our world or from FTL. Even though Emma said he didn’t know she was pregnant, mybe he DID know and somehow made it so that Henry was sent to SB. For whatever reason …

We know through her conversation with Gold that she apparently had no idea who the child was. She did ask Gold if he knew -but- if what the writers say is true, Gold wouldn’t have known who Emma was until he heard her name in the real world. IMO, that would only leave the BF. As far as the finale goes, she didn’t have very many lines so viewers can interpret her reaction in any way. All we know for sure is that with Emma’s admission of her love for Henry, the BF turned to Regina and stated she should find a place to hide “Your Majesty”. I, for one, am leaning towards the BF being involved.

June 5, 2012 at 6:24 pm #148249merryleeplayingParticipantI have wondered this, too and just thought I missed something since I did not see the very beginning of the pilot.
I think there are more people/beings/creatures we haven’t been introduced to. Everything can’t be revealed in one season if the show is going to last 5+ seasons.
Possibilities: 1) BF had her own protection from the curse and could come and go from SB. 2) The BF might have notified other magical beings in other realms before the curse. After the curse their realm ended up outside of SB town.(How else did Grace/Paige win a regional spelling bee???) So that Emma had a “fairy god mother” of sorts in the real word who might not have had magical powers but could travel and keep track of her. Then reports back to BF on Emma’s status. “They” could have brought Henry to SB on BF direction.
Perhaps the reason Emma remained outside of SB was to be able to grow up unnoticed by the EQ.My follow up question would be was Emma having Henry just a coincidence or dystiny?
June 5, 2012 at 6:33 pm #148374killianhookfanParticipantObisgirl – I get stuck the same place you do. The BF and Rumple don’t get along so it would seem strange to have them “work together” to bring Henry to SB. The one way I can get around that, however, is if the BF really needed to get Henry to SB and she was sure Gold didn’t know who he really was I could see her using Gold to get Henry to Regina – basically just using him as the middle man. If Bae is Henry’s father maybe she WANTED Rumple involved in bringing Henry to Regina so that it would have more of an impact on him later on – so maybe he will feel guilty about bringing his own grandson to live with the Evil Queen.
June 5, 2012 at 9:29 pm #148384clockwatcherParticipantThe Blue Fairy. That is all I have to say.
(Oh, and about the BF and Rumple not working well together: something must have happened to make them not work well together; Rumple didn’t remember who the fairies were in SB)June 6, 2012 at 2:00 am #148397JosephineParticipant@MerryLeeplaying wrote:

This is an interesting theory. It reminds me of Harry Potter. In HP1, Dumbledore places Harry with his Aunt and Uncle, knowing he would grow up outside the hoopla of the magical world. Even though the Dursleys were horrible people, they met his basic needs, educated him, and grounded him in a humbling reality that served him well when he came to a world that idolized and celebrated him. It also protected him so he could one day fulfill his destiny.
Similary, maybe Emma needed to be away and have a tough life to strengthen her for the upcoming battle and war. Would she have been able to slay the dragon if she was a pampered girly girl adopted from a wealthy family? Maybe not. Plus, like you said she probably needed protected from Regina. Who knows what she would have done to baby Emma if she had known. It looked in the pilot that she ordered her henchman to kill the baby. She might have done it in Storybrooke, too.

That makes sense. I think it’s either, as you say, the BF ‘s arrangement, with Gold as the middleman, or Rumple, when he learned Emma’s name back in FTL, was able to see her future and, then knowing about Henry, planted, so deep into his psyche that the curse couldn’t erase it, the command to bring Henry to SB.
Mostly, though, I think it was a mistake in the writing. 😕
However it happened, I think Gold talked Regina into the idea of becoming a parent.
June 6, 2012 at 4:45 am #148405hjbauParticipantI sort of think it was a mistake in the writing too though they can fix it. I like the Blue Fairy idea. Though it seems bizarre to me that on one hand they seemed to have decided that Rumpel didn’t remember until he heard Emma’s name even though that was never explicitly stated in the show only hinted at, but still they seemed to have decided that, so it seems strange to me that they would forget that when thinking about how Rumpel found Henry. They must have some sort of story behind it.
Sometimes it feels like they are going episode by episode and not looking at the big picture.
