By bringing out his dark side, Rumple is showing Belle “the man she fell in love with”. Rumple is following Charming’s advice though it’s probably not what Charming was expecting.

Very true. I’m very curious as to what parts of Belle are in Lacey’s personality. It should be interesting to see what Dark One style Rumple brings out in her.
Why am I suddenly having humorous visions of Rumple making deals with folks all over town that if they’ll let him beat them up he’ll owe them a favor? *shakes head*

And vice versa! When Belle comes back, will she still have a touch of Lacey’s wildness?

I agree with you.
Belle fell in love with Rumpelstiltskin in FTL and I think the Robin Hood story took place about a week after her arrival at the Dark Castle. It’s a short time to fall in love with such a person, who is really dark. Although she had seen the good in him from the beginning and she told him repeatedly, that there’s still good in his heart. Yes, there is goodness in his heart, but the dark magic overshadowed his good side. And as long as he is the DO, he can never bring out the good in him without help in the long run, because the dark magic is too powerful.
However, I think Belle was also fascinated from his dark side, and also precisely why she liked him, because his personality is deep and complex. I can not imagine that she fall in love with him because of one good deed and because of the library in the FTL.I hope, that Rumple will only play his dark side to impress Lacey, so that she gets feelings for him. So they will kiss eachother and *boooom* Belle is back again before the finale. *-*

So we can hang on to that – that there is a shred of the real Belle within Lacey and the trick is to see how/if/when Rumple is able to bring that out, while still staying “dark” enough to remain in her life. This is an incredible storyline – so multifaceted, so many opportunities to blow it, and so many opportunities to get it right. But I think it’s gonna take awhile. Definitely a bumpy ride! (Just like real love!)

I think that Belle will not forgive herself and that will break both in the end. Rumple need another way or he will hurt Belle so much that she have to get away of him. David says once that the person they were in the curse come not from nowhere.
We have seen her in a bar before and Lacey is good in reading of characters as well. Both looking for adventure, altough a other kind of. Don’t forget that Belle also is attractive to the Dark side as well. I mean she is reaching out for Rumples good side but she knows as much light he has, there is equal of Darkness of him as well.

He is fighting for the woman he loves, he’s not just giving up and walking away. Belle will need to come to terms with everything that has happened since she went over the line but she and Rumple will support each other. They’ve seen each other at their worst and they still fight for each other, that’s true love.

When it worked for Charming and Snow, they’d each proven that they were willing to give up their lives for each other. When it worked for Emma and Henry, Henry had just willingly eaten a poisoned apple to protect Emma and Emma had just fought a dragon to try to save Henry.
When it worked for Rumple and Belle in FTL, Rumple had sacrificed the pleasure of her company by giving her the chance to leave, to save her from being his servant forever and forever parted from the family she loved. She in turn sacrificed her freedom to try to save him from his curse. It stopped working because doubt and fear came and squelched the love in Rumple’s heart, and because Rumple wasn’t yet willing to sacrifice his power for her.
That might also explain why none of their kisses in SB have yet reverted him, but there could be a more complex reason for that, too. But they’ve had two on screen, and in one, he had just made a promise that he was already figuring out how to break-not-break, and in the other, she no longer knew him, so she couldn’t love him yet. (And the third was in a dream sequence.) So maybe he was still holding back, at least until he could find Bae…dunno.
There’s also the fact that David and MM kissing during the curse didn’t break The Curse or even bring back their own memories. Of course, there wasn’t magic then–Emma brought her own magic with her and yadda yadda. But at the same time, both of them felt that their being together was wrong even when they insisted it felt right.

April 22, 2013 at 8:19 pm #187833RumplesGirlKeymasterI love everything you just said, Keb. Which means when TLK happens between Rumbelle happens before seasons end, it’s going to be the best TLK of all time, because I think it will happen right after he decides not to kill Henry. (I keep insisting this over and over again 😆 ) Stupid OTP. Killing me slowly.

I think she is going to feel badly about how terribly wrong everything went. Lacey is her complete opposite- far more than any of the other curse personalities as this personality was made especially to get back at Gold.
I wonder how Belle is going to react. I always thought she should have been a little more traumatized after all she’s been through- 29 years locked up with no memories plus a year or two before that…she ought to have some post traumatic stress disorder! hehe
