I have a feeling that they are going to have to find some common thing that brings out the best in both of their natures. (If Rumple isn’t purely evil then I can’t believe that Lacey is). I bet that it might be over saving Henry or something of the like. Lacey must have sympathy for something, puppies, cups anything?
I find it interesting that the idea of evil is being applied to Lacey. Lacey has a wild streak for sure, but she is a character of our world: a mundane day-to-day where concepts like “good” and “evil” aren’t really a part of most people’s perceptions and actions. I’m not saying that good and evil don’t exist in our world, of course- but that in a person’s day to day existence it’s really more about “good and bad” choices. “Evil” while it assuredly exists in our world- isn’t this sweeping, grand power like it is in FTL.
It’s also important to keep in mind that Lacey is a fabricated person, created by Regina. Regina knew exactly what she was doing when she created Lacey. She purposely made her to be the sort of person that Gold would have trouble resisting, and who would be the worst thing for him (as far as choosing goodness goes). But I also think that if Lacey had been created as actually bad or evil, Gold would have a much easier time seeing that there was nothing of Belle in her and walking away.

As long as he’s got Belle’s body around, he doesn’t seem to miss what made Belle different from the persona that Regina created — or even notice the differences. Belle wanted him to just take the shawl and go; Lacey found his beating someone amusing, but he’s good with that because she looks like Belle? (For that matter, he doesn’t seem to care that he’s alienating the son he was supposedly so determined to find.) Then again, it isnt the first time he hasn’t stopped to think: it apparently never once occurred to him to find out if Regina was telling the truth about Belle’s death. I could have loved seeing him teaching amnesiac Belle to love him again, but having him just turn oblivious to Belle and Baefire over someone who’s sadistic and stupid as well? Sts, but the writers will have to have something up their sleeves to balance the ‘yuck’ factor on this one. Or am I the only one wishing that as far as the Belle/Rumplestiltskin arc was concerned, the writers had just left well enough alone?

Rumple is trying to get Belle back with true love’s kiss. It’s not going to work if Lacey doesn’t love him. She wasn’t interested when he was trying to be good, but she’s attracted to his dark side and that is the angle Rumple is going with. Let’s not forget, had Rumple not gone darkside, Lacey would’ve likely have slept with Keith- something Belle would have been horrified about. Rumple is being dark for Lacey, not just for his own sake but for Belle’s as well. Belle is still in Lacey, she’s not just someone who looks exactly like Belle.
