That’s one persons opinion. I will never give up OUAT. I understand it became too complicated for the casual viewer and the idiotic hiatus breaks didn’t help, but A and E have already said that next season is going to be tighter.

I can totally understand how many people would. Personally I haven’t seen all of season two but there hasn’t been any storylines that I’ve particularly loved, I still like season one more and feel season two just hasn’t met the same storyline and such. But I’d certainly not give up on it- I couldn’t not know how it ended and although I was a little disappointed with season 2 it wasn’t even close to that bad that I’d give up!

I don’t find OUAT convoluted or confusing in the least bit.
Then, again, I didn’t think LOST was convoluted or confusing, either.

When ppl start using the word convoluted, that usually means they’re confused.
Some ppl blame the writerrs -i.e – “they don’t know what they’re doing…….they’re making it up as they go along….etc…”

I honestly don’t see what is so hard about following the story.
I mean, if ya pay attention, it’s pretty straight foreword.

    ^This.

Maybe it’s because I spent 6 years as a die hard LOSTie but I do not find OUAT to be convoluted.

If people wanna give up on OUAT, that’s their prerogative. Personally, I think they’ll be missing out on something wonderful, but that’s their loss, and to each their own.

I find OUAT to be so much more enjoyable than Lost because I find it easier to follow.

Except if you just join it is kind of hard to understand especially since they don’t use their FL names in my opinion.

I get why it might be convoluted to the casual viewer who doesn’t agonize over every detail like we do. I have a few people I know who watch it and then come to me to remind them of things that we already knew or explain why so and so is upset with such and such etc. Most don’t devote the time we do to it but it makes it really fun to be able to talk to someone after the episode and be reminded of all that stuff and sometimes they ask questions that we either didn’t think to ask because we were zoomed so far in on the details that we forgot the bigger picture, or they remind us of something we just skipped over.

Perhaps those who do find it too convoluted and don’t have the time to devote to it are also ones who don’t have a place to go (like here) or people to talk to in the real world about the show and are more likely to throw in the towel. I love catching up with casual viewers I’ve gotten hooked on it, they always have interesting things to add.

I hope that with word of mouth the show will continue to grow (I know Netflix helped tons last year), and that once S2 hits Netflix more people will get into it, especially knowing that S3 scheduling will be tons better. (I dread the thought of winter & summer hiatus but love the back to back episode chunks). I really think it’ll go back up next year. *fingers crossed*

If I don’t watch rabidly next season, it will be because I leave the country and can’t. Otherwise, I’ll be devouring every episode the second I can.
