This episode had a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat with anticipation. There was a split second when Mr. Gold really believed that August was his son that I started to allow he could be Baelfire. Mr. Gold was so overcome with emotions, that it was hard to hold out. Nevertheless, I still thought there were too many discrepancies for that theory to work, and in the back of my mind, I kept thinking that August is turning back into a puppet. He pretty much admitted that he is sick and dying. I’m really sad that we might not have August around too much longer. It seems like it depends on whether or not Emma starts to believe for him to have access to magic again. Also, the Blue Fairy counterpart, Mother Superior, said that August was a son looking for his father. That makes me think he is Pinocchio looking for Geppetto. The summary for episode 20 reveals that Geppetto agrees to build the wardrobe for Emma with the proviso that his son also be saved. It makes me think Geppetto seeks help from the Blue Fairy, who transports Pinocchio to our world, too. Maybe she does have more magical beans by this later stage. After watching episode 19, do most people also think that August is Pinocchio?

I wanted August to be Baelfire so much but I guess now it is looking more and more like he is going to be Pinocchio. Hopefully Bae will be back but I think we will have to wait for Season 2.
When Bae first got the magic bean from the Blue Fairy, I thought he was going to grow a beanstalk. 🙂
But since it was a green vortex, it seems suspicious it could be Oz. Wonder if the green phone August used @ the beginning was a hotline to Oz. Even though they cut to a scene with August and Henry, I think that was just a red herring. Possibly even though August is not Bae, maybe he is working with Bae. It could have been Bae on the other end and he came up with the plan to have August enlist Henry for help.
If Bae went to Oz, I suppose it’s possible he is The Wizard. Regardless, I think being in Oz he may be able to view what is going on in Storybrooke “our world” as in Wizard of Oz movie, the Wicked Witch could show Dorothy images of her Aunt Em through her crystal ball.
I too was wishing August was Bae, and was so excited when August called Mr. Gold “Papa”. Imagine my disappointment! 😆 I guess he could be Pinocchio, though I hope not! I really don’t want him to be Pinocchio (especially now if he is dying). Poor Geppetto! I just want him to be someone more interesting than Pinocchio ( I never did like Pinocchio). Someone from Oz would be great or a Lost Boy. Either way I just want to know who he is!!!
Yeah i’m pretty sure that August has to be Pinocchio, but I think he’s working with Baelfire he had to be talking to someone on the phone. It’s possible that the Blue Fairy was able to transport Pinocchio too I didn’t really buy it when she said that there was no more beads.
They do too many trick things because then people are just disappointed. I don’t understand why they think that is a good idea.
I will cough it up and admit that it looks like August is Pinnochio, makes the most sense of any.

However, if the bean leads to a land without magic, I am having a hard time understanding how Baelfire could be alive centuries later and canoot believe that the portal opened by the bean is OZ or Neverland or anywhere with magic.
However, there is one theory, that although I didn’t like at first or even now, could explain it; and that would be if Bae were Jefferson, and somehow found a portal from a land without magic to other worlds through a hat that was brought there, or something. It’s a longshot in my mind, but for the moment it satisfies the idea.

Yeah, when the writers said that there is some great stuff with Rumple and his son, but whether they would reveal that in season 1 or season 2 was up in the air. I guess they meant the “great stuff” would come in season 2 or a future season.
I agree with most of you – he must probably be pinocchio (the shin splints and that he might turn to wood in the absence of magic)… that’s so sad…for some reason pinocchio was one of the disney cartoons i really avoided… probably because of the donkey scene… … well that’s side tracking…
I like the thought that he was in cohoots with Bae… afterall he had a drawing of the knife… which only Bae saw and there’s that hint – “even a mute can draw a picture” which at first makes you think august is bae… but they railed us in the opposite direction…
If he went to a land without magic Bae might be dead by now… but i doubt the authors will stick to that… it has to be a world without time too… In any case, it finally explains why Rumple made the curse… it makes sense – that way he got everyone from FTL contained in SB.. like we got jefferson back even though in FTL he was stuck in wonderland…
OK… btw… that was stupid of us… Bael has brown eyes – august blue… sometimes during casting they do overlook these things – but i hope they don’t… i hope now pinocchio or whoever august really is, has blue eyes…
Maybe August and Baelfire have met (in the real world) and they decide to work together after August/Pinocchio tells him about the curse and Baelfire decides to work with August to get the curse unbroken from Regina and August/Pinocchio also tells him about his father and Baelfire sets up a plan to send August to Storybrooke through the years (maybe August has been in Storybrooke but went undetected) and keep tabs on Mr. Gold and the arrival of Emma. It would be cool if Jefferson, August and Bae are working together to undo the curse and help Emma out. Maybe Bae is the leader of the group and he tells Jefferson and August (or just August) what to do and he tells August about his dad’s dagger.
If August is not Bae, I think Bae is working behind the scenes and telling him what to do with Emma and his father.
I was really hoping for August to be Bae. They had me for a few minutes, but things started to seem too good to be true for Mr. Gold, no fight yet (which we knew would happen from the previews), and I sort of figured out that this was all a trick. Great episode, in my opinion, but disappointed that it looks more than ever like August will be Pinocchio.
