Tonight we learned that the hourglass inside Skull Rock was created when Malcolm deaged into PP and that the hour glass is counting down the the time until magic runs out and Malcolm must become old again. Now that Malcolm has Henry’s heart, does time stop once more? Did the Hourglass…turn, for wont of a better word? With the heart of the truest believer willingly given, can PP/Malcolm really go on forever? And how do you stop such a being?

    I just had a thought:

In the original Peter Pan, Captain Hook is the villain and is afraid of clocks.

In OUaT, Hook is not too bad a bloke and Pan is the villain.

An hourglass is, essentially, a thing to keep time. Like a clock.

Pan is afraid of dying – which is marked by his hourglass.

I notice the place was full of skulls of all sizes. I think this indicates that that shadow is really more than he seems >> He could have given Pan an hour glass that tells him how long he has (or he could have given him a rose šŸ˜› beauty and beast reference) but instead he made an entire cave? O.o I don’t think so. Something ain’t right, He seemed oddly prepared.

I was thinking of the symbolism there too.Ā  In the other thread, I brought up wraiths and Hades.

    True about the clocks!

All the skulls could just symbolize death and evil, both things which Malcolm/Pan brought with him to the island. Ā I think it was pretty clear that Pan created Skull Rock and not the shadow. Ā I wish I could be a fly on the wall to the conversation that the shadow had with Malcolm while he was up in the tree. Ā I have a feeling that there is some piece of information left out.
