There was a set photo recently where it showed MRJ walking along next to a police bike, and that idea immediately popped into my head. But then I realised it just looked like actual, legit, crowd control coz the street’s shut down for filming cop, and the pic was snapped between takes, so I wrote the idea off. Would be an interesting twist though.
Oh, you don’t know how much you got my hopes up, lol.
Sorry for getting your hopes up. π Here’s the pic I was talking about…
November 2, 2012 at 10:46 am #159101a_desperate_soulParticipantI’m in love with this scene! I love seeing teenage Emma and Neal is made of win. I’m really looking forward to this episode!
What’s the shipper name for Emma and Bae? SwanFire? I like it. π
November 2, 2012 at 10:54 am #159103thedarkoneParticipantLadies and gentlemen, Bae has entered the building.
β¦or the car. Or the bug. Oh whatever! π I really like Neal. Heβs funny and snarky. Iβm glad Michael Raymond James was cast for this role. Heβs seems like a cool guy. I hope whatever split Neal and Emma up wasnβt too terrible. I want to see more of this character, particularly his interactions with Henry and Mr. Gold.

I love how the writers are paying attention to every little detail. And I gotta say, I love Neal. He just seems like my kind of guy. π And baby Emma stealing the yellow bugβ¦too awesome for words. π

I love how we are so set on Neal being Bae that we haven’t even considered another name for those two. π although, SwanThief does have a nice ring to it.

It’s okay if it meant getting to see that picture again. (He was definitely telling the truth on Twitter when he says he’s been working out with a personal trainer by the looks of his arms. Maybe he needs to do a scene that doesn’t require a shirt, so we can see more evidence of this working out. π )

Oh, thank you. It wasn’t actually my theory, but one that Lil’Red brought up. I did add the detail of Emma possibly punching him out being the real reason that she went to jail. Of course, I doubt the writers will care that much about what would actually happen to someone like Emma, but from my experience listening to a bail bondsperson that comes in a lot where I work, who watches the show because he got hooked that the leading character was a bail bondsperson, he’s always talking about now how he would love to switch jobs because he hates seeing all of the same people and how most of the time a lot of them get little to no jail time for some serious offenses. So I’m not sure if Emma would get jail time especially if it was her first offense, but if she punched out a cop that would definitely get her jail time. Of course, maybe it wasn’t her first offense, or maybe whatever happened went beyond just having stolen goods or property, or maybe she really did get the book thrown at her for what some might consider a minor crime.
I also thought of another possible reason why Bae could be a police officer and not a thief because it would be like another parallel/inverse to his father being a lawyer in this land except his father helps defend criminals, okay an innocent one so far, but it mirrors their relationship before Rumple let his son go in a lot of ways too because Bae was on the side of “good” and his father on the side of “evil” even though Rumple did end up helping out the innocent with his evil powers just as he helped out the innocent Mary Margaret. Actually in both case with helping out the children not have to go to war and helping Mary Margaret, it was one of the few times he did so that didn’t benefit him directly. (Well I guess technically he helped Mary Margaret to sock it to Regina, but that’s practically being selfless for Rumple.)
November 2, 2012 at 1:06 pm #159109faux paxParticipantI don’t think I like the idea of him being a cop. I guess it just seems like if he was serious about her then he wouldn’t have let her get into that much trouble–maybe he would have told her beforehand or even called in some favors at the present to get her charges lessened or dropped. And if he was a cop and didn’t do those things, then it would seem like he was just being a player (which is an idea i can’t stand–especially if he is Bae). If he was a thief then it would be a lot easier to believe that things just went sideways and he couldn’t help or didn’t know she was in trouble until it was too late.
November 2, 2012 at 1:09 pm #159110RumplesGirlKeymasterI originally thought he might be a cop too, until I saw this clip. I think the story is going to go something like this: Neal and Emma fall in love and try to make a life together, Emma gets pregnant, Neal freaks and leaves (with Emma calling him a coward which really hurts since he is also Bae), Emma goes back to her life of crime, gets caught, gives birth to Henry in jail, and we know what happens from there.
