I think the Canadian promo was just being sneaky by putting those two clips together. If you look closely, you’ll see that Emma’s clothes are different.
Or maybe that’s just me hoping. I really don’t want him to know. Not just because it will up the drama, but because if he did know and ran that would be kind of unforgivable. Besides, if he is Bae, I can’t help but imagine he would have inherited Rumple’s paternal streek. I mean, besides that one moment of cowardice, you have to admit that for all his faults Rumple was a good dad.
[adrotate group="5"]November 2, 2012 at 1:23 pm #159113RumplesGirlKeymasterRumple was a good Papa, I agree. It just seems like for Emma, who already has a whole host of abandonment issues because of her parents, the most devastating thing would be the father of her child leaving her.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 2, 2012 at 1:47 pm #159121JosephineParticipantI hope he has no idea about Henry, also. I just can’t see any reason, even inheriting cowardly genes from Rumple, that he’d abandon his child. I’ll be disappointed in the writers if they do that. Even Rumple, like you guys have mentioned, stepped up and took care of his son. How many men would have done that in the environment Bae was raised in?
I do think, and hope the writers remember her talking about him, that Emma was telling the truth when she told Regina that the father had no idea about Henry and wouldn’t be a problem. I also think there was a seed of truth in what Emma told MM in “True North”.
Speaking of “True North”, do you think it’s just a coincidence that the episode mentioned both Henry’s father and a compass and here we are in “Tallahassee” with Henry’s father appearing in some version and Emma looking for a magical compass? Or is it just me? I know that compass of Hansel and Gretel will come back somehow. It just has to, even if it is broken. Maybe it didn’t work because magic wasn’t in Storybrooke at the time if it is indeed magical.

November 2, 2012 at 4:35 pm #159148faux paxParticipantBut wasn’t the compass in “True North” broken? I would like it to have some connection. Besides what little (apparently false) info we got about Henry’s dad, that epp didn’t seem to contribute anything to the bigger story. Although I do think it would be interesting to see if K&H just made us THINK it was out of place…
November 2, 2012 at 5:20 pm #159151JosephineParticipantThe compass pointed North at the end when the dad took the kids. Maybe now that magic is in Storybrooke, the compass will work once again.
Oh, oh, I just got an idea. I’m going to post it on “The Magical Compass” thread.

Henry is going to be very powerful (and have VERY powerful allies!) Maybe in a few seasons they’ll have a time lapse to the future and we can see what 17 year old Henry is going to be like. Think of the epic adventures! Don’t know what I want more: his ride of choice to be his horse or him to be the next owner of the yellow bug? Definitely think he’ll learn to drive the bug – maybe before the age of 12. 😆
I think a time lapse epp would be epic. Mostly because I want to see Bae’s interaction with a bunch of four and five year olds (Henry’s siblings, Bae’s siblings, Emma’s, or maybe all of the above). I have a feeling he would be really good with them. Maybe even pretending to be an ogre so they can pretend to slay him or something. 😛

You have no idea how happy the image of MRJ’s Bae chasing a herd of curly-haired kids around saying, “fee fi fo fum” makes me! 😀
Oh wait, that’s giants! That might have to be my happy thought for after the episode airs, that one day Emma/Bae(Neal) could have that. 😥
November 3, 2012 at 3:17 am #159206faux paxParticipantI could so see him teach his siblings how to do a puppy dog face and have Rumple wrapped around their fingers. and the best part is that Rumple couldn’t even be mad about it…. 😆
November 3, 2012 at 2:24 pm #159226hjbauParticipantI would find it really skeevy if mystery guy/Henry’s father was a cop. That he hooked up with a mark, got her pregnant, got her arrested, and just left her. For me there is no coming back from that for Emma. To hook up with her just to use her to stop her from robing. It isn’t like Emma was a harden criminal or anything. She was just stealing from people which is wrong, but it isn’t like she was part of a drug ring or killing people or a gang or anything. At least that all seems wildly unlikely.
They really have to be careful, if they want the father to be a character on the show, they need to make whatever he did not be too far. Though they seem to be trying to redeem Regina which is ridiculous in light of her mass murder, cursing the whole world thing, so maybe they will make the father that skeevy and pretend that Emma would ever get over it. I hope not though.
November 3, 2012 at 2:31 pm #159227faux paxParticipantI agree completely Hjbau. That’s kinda why i want him to just be another thief, it’s easier to say something just went sideways by accident then he was a total skeev.
Until I hear otherwise tomorrow, I kind of think they were pulling a job together and got separated. Emma waited longer than she should have for him and got caught. She thinks he just left her, but the real reasion he was late was that he went back to steal a ring (of THAT variety). I just have this mental picture of him standing in the meeting place looking at the ring in his hand and wondering why she wasn’t there.
