That’s odd. Unless “earth” is just being used as a world for any land mass. But I do wish he had said the name of his land instead since we don’t have a proper name for it….

There’s definitely something to that pocket watch.
PapaFrankenstein: Your mother gave me that when we were married. It was her father’s. She wanted to keep it in the family.
Viktor: *shock and awe* I remember.Does that imply that Viktor remembers when it was given to his father? If so, does that imply that Gerhart’s mother was his 2nd wife and Viktor has a different mother, and maybe that’s why he’s a less favoured son? Or does it just imply that Viktor has heard about the pocket watch being handed down at some point?
A couple of pages back, EvilQueen mentioned him maybe being the White Rabbit. I dunno that Gerhart could be, because I’m guessing he’s headed right back to the battlefield and will soon be in bits and pieces on Viktor’s operating table, but perhaps it’s their grandfather who was the White Rabbit, if the watch originally belonged to him?

Yes, I noticed that too. And they appear to have a Christmas tree up. They shouldn’t have Christmas in alternate, magical realms, should they? Hmmm.

Hook-Emma so called interaction, it’s gross beyond everything. Is this, as they claim, a “family show”? I understand the writers are trying to feed the Hookers but this just lacks any taste.
What is it with so many people attacking the writers over little things-especially to do with Hook and Emma. If its not because they are ‘favouring Captain Swan’ then its ‘Hook has too many innuendos’. Anyway this show is rated PG -meaning Parental Guidance, which is pretty self explanatory. If it was rated G then yeah, I’d have a problem.

Yet another very valid point. It’s either a dramatic thing to make the sadness of PapaFrankenstein being mean to Viktor more poignant, over a holiday and all, OR we’re looking at weird time travel Twilight Zone pocket Earth Universe. *head desk*

Oh I agree. With Belle, it was just him using her to get back at Rumpelstiltskin. He was a bit in her personal space and he did sort of use his physical appeal in a way, but not in the way that he normally does with Emma. The way he was with her was more threatening than flirty.
He sort of bested Emma and Belle I guess…with Belle is was him erasing her memories I guess. With Emma it is a bit harder–yeah he sided back with Cora after she left him, but then she knocked him out cold. 🙂
I will admit that I do like there scenes togehter–I don’t ship them, but I am interested in how they both talk to one another. The actors have a great way of being able to show both wariness and some form of common ground.
They’re trying not to reveal too much of themselves when they’re talking, right? Like they’re afraid to show their true selves. That’s why Emma is trying to shrug everything off.
Join the ship! It’s more complex than Snow and Charming.

January 18, 2013 at 3:21 am #168942TheGoldenKeyParticipantLove the line from Papa Frankentein: “I’ve already allowed you the use of our SUMMER HOME for your foolish purposes.”
Oh, is that what they call Castle Frankenstein, the summer home? 😆
Here in Canada, the Silver Cross (Memorial Medal) is awarded to the immediate next of kin of a soldier who has given his life while in active duty.
In Germany, it is given for 10 years of service or exemplary achievements. Looking back at Victor’s german officer’s coat in The Doctor and considering the setting of this video clip, sure sounds like Transylvania.

Oh my goodness Cora stop sniffing your daughters clothing…creepy mother!
I wonder what she’s going to do with Henry’s hand print, I’m thinking she’ll use it to ether track him down or impersonate him.Yes, she was even creepier which I didn’t think Cora could do, but she did. Yes, I do believe that’s how she’ll get Regina to come back to her is by impersonating Henry somehow, and the hand print could be how she’s able to do that.
Emma’s awesome! she may not be to fond of Rumple but she knows who the victims are. Emma interrogating Hook was great.
Yes, I don’t think she’s impressed or flattered by his attention at all. First he tries to keep her from getting to the person that she cares most about, and then when he comes to Storybrooke, he goes after innocent Belle by taking her memory away forever in Emma’s point of view. Plus, he’s just so gross with his innuendo. Not just this scene but just about every scene that he’s in where they have him try to charm a female character. I feel sorry for poor Colin O’Donoghue because he tries to sell it, but I don’t think the writers of his innuendo are as clever as they think they are. Instead of coming across as charming and suave like a Jane Austen hero or a character from an old black and white movie with his sophisticating and sexually charged banter, it just comes across as creepy and immature.
I wonder what that pocket watch is all about? poor whale he looked like he wanted it.
I like Evil Queen’s theory about Dr. Whale’s brother being the White Rabbit, but I’m not sure it will have any significance just beyond showing that Dr. Whale’s father favored his brother more. I’m definitely getting a Legends of the Fall impression from Dr. Whale’s family. In Dr. Whale’s case he would be Alfred, and his brother would be Tristan, the brother who could do no wrong in his father’s eyes.

Carrying out the Legends of the Fall parallel even further since Pennsylvania might be a play on the word Transylvania, Barrett could be the youngest brother. I know in that movie he died, but maybe they just flip it around so that “Tristan” dies in OUaT.
Probably not, but Ethan Embry and David Anders look so much alike that I think they missed out on a big opportunity if they don’t make them related in some way.

I’ve been saying since 2×05, The Doctor, that I believe it is Transylvania. The fact that his world is black and white, typical of the old ’30/40’s horror flicks. Looking at their attire and surroundings in that sneak peek, it’s all reminiscent of those horror flicks, which always take place at the turn of the century.
