Agreed with everything said here. I never said Mr. Gold had done anything to achieve redemption; I said he wants to atone for things now that he’s dying. This could be the jolt he’s been needing for centuries. One could call it a “death bead conversion” which could lead to him changing for the better if he survives which we know he does. This could be achieved if he loses his powers as the dark one in a way we don’t even expect. Although I think his real struggle would be if he survives with his dark powers in tact; then he’ll have to decide again whether to choose magic or love of his family.
As for the last sneak peek, I’m actually fed up with how clueless Regina’s become. It’s irritating to see the writers stupefying her like that, it doesn’t fit with the character we’ve known for that long. Even if the writers come up with some excuse for that, I will still consider it bad writing.
I’m not even an EvilRegal and it irritates me how completely she seems to have succumbed to Cora. Hopefully by the end of this ep, she’ll have had a wake up call.
[/quote] Totally agreed. Regina is still the victim of Cora’s abusive maternal hold on her daughter. I have hope though that Regina will realize how twisted her mother is. I could see this happening if Cora were to threaten Henry, and Regina would never let anyone harm a hair on her son’s head (except for when she accidentally caused Henry to eat a poinsed apple, but I think she’s grown since then, hopefully). I could see Regina realizing that Cora was only using Regina to get more power.

I did start to get a teary listening to that phone conversation.
I like Cora’s like, ‘okay, if he’s dying, then I have to become the Dark One — like it wasn’t her plan all along which I’m pretty sure it was. C’mon Regina, even you must realize that is NOT a good thing for anyone.
Yeah, Cora seemed to come to the “Let’s kill the Beast!” (I couldn’t resist) scenario a little too fast, like it wasn’t what she wanted all along. I do think Cora is going to make a very vital mistake at some point, like claiming she doesn’t care about Henry or even threatening him which will hopefully open Regina’s eyes. I’m an EvilRegal but I do hope Regina gets a clue soon.
