As for Neal running…might not be her voice that tipped him…like Gold tells Henry later…his son is adept at running…as much as Emma knows how to spot someone who is hiding…Neal probably knows how to recognize when he’s being tracked.
Based on this spoiler tweet, I’d say Baelfire has been on the run long before Emma ever buzzed his intercom. He is running not from her but from his father. Also, Baelfire is a thief and on the wrong side of the law. He always has to watch his back and be hyper vigilant. If someone shows up unannounced at his door, he’s not going to stick around for very long. I posted a theory here about my thoughts on the matter: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=2806&start=10#p38542Then again he stayed away from Emma and Storybrook for some reason or another…I guess it could be Emma just as well as Gold. I think I am dreading this episode as much as looking forward to it…really still haven’t recovered from the events in The Outsider and In the Name of the Brother and now another emotional nail biter…I’ll probably be looking for that funny line from Charming as much as anything else just so I can make it through
I think the reason Neal stayed away from SB isn’t so much because of Emma. I think it’s because he wanted to avoid a run-in with his dear papa.

That is true, I’m sure the guy has been permanently on edge for some time. But I have to think that it was the sound of her voice that made him run. If he knows the curse is broken, he’s probably been a bit more jumpy than usual, and then THAT VOICE, the voice of the girl he loved, and left, that voice that he hasn’t heard in 10 years, but is still unmistakeable, it suddenly comes over the intercom of his apartment. Any other voice, he probably would have stayed, hid, pretended he wasn’t home, prepared to take down anyone who came in his door or his window. But THAT VOICE…all he could do was run from it.

This was stewing around in my mind as well after chewing on a few other theories. It really is the one that makes the most sense, and the most heart wrenching! Love the way you described it, Phee!!
Keeper Nealfire's/Bae's scarf, Henry and Neal's bribery ice cream sundae, Baelfire's sword, the coconut map, and more.

I agree slurpeez108 I think Cora & Regina are playing Hook. Hook is to full of wanting Revenge on Rumple to even see that those two are laying a trap for him. Because there is no way Rumple would tell Belle where the Dagger is he is way to smart. He would have guessed right away that Hook, Regina & Cora would try to find it. In my opinion Rumple could hid it someplace or with someone that the three of them would never suspect.
There’s no way finding Rumpel’s dagger would be that easy.
I agree.

Once Upon a Time | ‘Manhattan” — IMO, it’s the best hour of the season and one of the strongest since the pilot. And while some of you believe to have the mystery of Rumplestiltskin’s son all figured out, I shall relate a lesson Bae’s dad is about to learn from a sneaky seer: Just because you know what’s going to happen doesn’t mean you know what’s going to happen. I relayed a couple scooplets in Ask Ausiello, but here are more: Hook proves adept at translating treasure maps but less so at fending off witchy women; David and Mary Margaret have a rather hilarious conversation about their family tree and what Thanksgiving dinner might look like this year; a three-month-old mystery is solved; Cora, sporting a modern-day Maine makeover, has a tender talk with Regina; and a grim fate is surprisingly revealed for a major character. Also: There’s some terrific work by both Robert Carlyle and Jennifer Morrison. http://tvline.com/2013/02/14/once-upon-time-svu-teen-wolf-community-spoilers/

Just posted this on another thread…thought the part about Hook fending off witchy women was kind of hilarious…and the grim fate thing for a major character…I wonder if this is why Barbara Barnett was so worried about Rumple?…if maybe the grim fate was revealed for him.
