Speculation on “other way”:
I think it probably has something to do with the fact that Nealfire has escaped NL before. But what he doesn’t realize, of course, was that it was engineered by PP. So Neal thinks he can get everyone out of NL the same way he did, but like we saw in the promo, PP tells him: “there is no escaping NL.” I bet Neal learns that it was PP who let him go, rather than Neal actually escaping.

BUMMER! But maybe it’s a good thing. This way, I’ll be an emotional train-wreck come Sunday rather than now.
There is another way.
O___O

Good point! Neal’s time in NL is going to come in handy. But PP always has a trick up his sleeve.
This episode is going to kill me.

Eva died. Ruth died. Leo died. Evil gets its small victories, and good gets its unavoidable losses. Well, they are unavoidable if you want to stay good. The more you compromise your principles though to achieve a perfectly acceptable goal through unjustified means, the more you slide down that line between good and evil. Then you start in on unacceptable goals through unjustified means, of hurting innocent people, until you’re doing it to make yourself happy or worse, because you can and there’s no real reason. Pan seems to me to be in this last category but we shall see if he really is trying to save magic and help everyone, or is he just an immortal child looking for thrills to stave off the boredom of his continued existence.
I am hoping Neal will check Rumple rather than Rumple dragging Neal down, just as I hope for all our Goodies not to descend while our Baddies reform. I don’t want them to all meet in the middle in morality, as I am hoping for more of an upward shift overall. The writers probably will not do that, so perhaps they are planning to have a spiral of moral collapse. We did see sweet Henry shooting an arrow at Pan. Emma and Charming holding knives at people’s throats (but they backed off).
NL is bringing out the darkness in everyone I think, but I had some small hope from seeing that scene, that they will beat that darkness.

Yes none of our characters can be some sort of idealized self. Everyone is a hero and everyone is a villain. It’s part of your point of view. Nothing on this show is black and white. Our villains are never evil for the sake of evil because A and E find that dull. And our heroes are never good for the sake of good–and rarely to do they ever stay pristine white. They are HUMAN. They are fathers and mothers and lovers. They make mistakes and bad choices and good choices and do fantastic things. And we love/hate them for it.
I am hoping Neal will check Rumple rather than Rumple dragging Neal down, just as I hope for all our Goodies not to descend while our Baddies reform.
Agreed. And Neal said no killing the Lost Boys. But that doesn’t mean a parent won’t do what a parent needs to do. Emma said the same thing in 301. She wants to do what works: be who you are and get Henry back. If that means you have to play dirty, then you play a little dirty.
NL is bringing out the darkness in everyone I think, but I had some small hope from seeing that scene, that they will beat that darkness.
Yeah! Charming almost filet a…thing. Snow and Regina got into a fist fight. Hook and Charming got into a fist fight. Emma’s emotions are running all around the place and Henry tried to murder PP. This show is and always has been about hope. The darkness never wins. And that includes the darkness in each of our characters because each of them have it–not just the so called villains.

#MoreBOOMLessGloomOctober 17, 2013 at 1:19 am #216521PheeParticipant“I’ll do what needs to be done.” Got a really bad dark vibe from that line.
And then he says that he won’t be killing lost boys. Parents will do they need to do: but murder is a line he’s not crossing.
Yes, please consider the actual context of that whole part of the conversation, and Neal’s full statement. Taking one short soundgrab from it is rather unfair IMO.
Rumple: As noble as their intentions may be, they don’t have the stomach to do what needs to be done.
Neal: Like what you did to these boys? They’re not, uh…
Rumple: No, they’re just sleeping, for now.
Neal: Let’s leave it that way, OK.
Rumple: You don’t have the stomach either
Neal: I’ll do what needs to be done, but killing Lost Boys, we don’t have to do that.
Rumple: We shall see.Neal was glaring when he was about to question Rumple about whether or not the boys were dead, and he couldn’t even bring himself to say the word “dead”, so he’s quite obviously not in favour of just going dark and rushing in and shooting the place up. Those boys are all probably people that Neal knows by name and spent a lot of time with, so even if they’re not his favourite people, they’re still familiar human beings, and Neal isn’t the type to just go in an slaughter them the way that Darker One Rumple would.
Daddy Rumple and Baby Bae are going on an adventure Together I may not survive next episode
Daddy Rumple and Baby Bae, awwww bless. <3 I'm REALLY looking forward to all of their interaction in this ep.

Agreed with all of that.October 17, 2013 at 9:03 am #216569rumbelledearieParticipantSpeculation on “other way”: I think it probably has something to do with the fact that Nealfire has escaped NL before. I’m kind of hoping that he meets with PP and realizes that they can’t all escape the same way he did BEFORE he runs into Rumple, that way when Nealfire says he knows another way he will already know all of the facts and actually still have something up his sleeve (cause I want Rumple to live haha). And there was that recent interview where Adam and Eddy said not to count Neal out because he used to live in NL and knows a lot.
I’m super excited for this episode. There’s been so much talk about Snowing and Emma having to confront their relationship that I almost forgot Rumple and Nealfire still have to work things out too. I’m glad they wind up together in NL. And from the promo it doesn’t look like Nealfire is about to peace out and leave Rumple to find Emma. He says “we” and asks about the plan so I’m hoping they’re together for more than just this episode 🙂
