So, Emma kisses Hook as payment for saving her father’s life. That makes a lot of sense.
Emma: “That was a one-time thing. Don’t follow me. Wait five minutes. Go get some firewood or something.”
Hook: “As you wish!”
Okay, so I totally got Princess Bride feels from that scene! I’m not saying Hook is Westley and Emma is Buttercup, but it was a great line.

I still think Hook didn’t save David from the poison but maybe in the next fight instead.
I think you’re right now that I rethink this. The story line would be totally wasted if they cured him this early after makig such a big deal about it. I suspect Lost Boys got in their way.

Although I am 100% on the “Hook and Charming venture off to find the map but accidentally find the flower to heal dreamshade” ship, that is a big plot line they just let slip. So I can absolutely see this being about a lost boys fight
In the case that this is a lost boys fight, then Hook just convinced Emma to kiss him for saving her fathers life when in all actuality he is keeping it from her that he is slowly dying anyway.

I kind of feel like Hook’s going to turn the other way and there will be David saying “stay away from my daughter” like in the promo, only Hook will be confused because David just imagined it.
Idk, it just seems super out of character for Emma to kiss Hook (and initiate it as well), especially considering she was just talking about being in love with Neal last ep. Just seems fishy to me.
Something seems off with Emma here. Is Hook imagining it or is David?
I think the kiss is legit. The way she immediately puts her guards back up and says it was a “one-time thing. Don’t follow me,” is in keeping with how I’d expect Emma to behave. But the kiss doesn’t exactly rub well with me. I think Hook has genuine feelings for Emma (the “as you wish” line). Yet, the way Hook also says “Hm, is that all your father’s life is worth to you?” means he’s using saving the life of Emma’s father to his advantage.

The article with the pics the other day said that it was real so not a dream or hallucination.

Perfect quote is perfect and that is not something you just throw around!
I’ve been waiting for him to say “As you wish” for agessssss (Colin has said before that Hook is a little bit Dread Pirate Roberts and I called that in the Crocodile because he sounded a lot like it so LOVE that they used it but now I have to survive til Sunday!)
Emma said she still loved Neal all those years but that she has a lot of anger built up. She didn’t say she was IN love and she also is realizing how much time she wasted not trusting her instincts and letting someone in. She’ll be so confused and conflicted when Neal shows back up because, as JMO has said, she has a legitimate pull to both these guys and this kiss proves that because she didn’t dive into it when he asked for thanks, she told him that’s what the “thank you” was for. She didn’t feel compelled and overwhelmed with him saving her dad that she just had to kiss him and then pretend like it didn’t mean anything. There was flirting and banter involved and she challenged him just as much!
Emma…if saying “thank you” was for the thanking then uh…what was the kiss for? She TEASED HIM with the “you couldn’t handle it” and dished it out just as much as he did. I don’t think he expected her to actually do anything but was probably trying to get her to smile or laugh or something while hoping for a little peck and she full on went for it!
If it was a purely thank you kiss…you don’t go in for the kill like that! Much less tell him before hand he wouldn’t be able to handle it! That is the most passionate kiss we’ve seen from Emma and I don’t think either of them will walk away unaffected from that. It sets it up for when Neal is back and she is drawn to both of them but is still, as always, focused on saving her son.
I need to see post-kiss interaction and gauge her behavior on that but she could have walked away, said he already got his thank you etc etc. Instead she flirted, challenged just as much as he did, and went in for the kill. Sorry but that’s not what you do when it’s somebody you’re not remotely interested in or drawn to. Some part of her wanted to know what that felt like and that was an amazing kiss and you don’t just forget that.
In fact her “one time thing” was about as convincing as his “just as I am done with you” and it sets up that she is genuinely drawn to him (which some of us have said for awhile) and it shows she does NOT hate his flirting (I’m seriously tired of being told how much she hates it) and he got her to SMILE which was refreshing.
Perfect use of quote is perfect and she definitely heard it. PRINCESS BRIDE FEELS. I’ve said since the Crocodile that he was part Westley and I love that they used that line! Perfect quote is perfect.
Now I get the rewatching scenes thing, I really do. I’ll take whatever I can get.
