I wish that they’d be referring to Charming being saved from the dreamshade but like others have said its too early for that and it probably has something to do with a lost boy fight.

All magic comes with a price!

It would make your headcanon stronger, I’d say 🙂
I think it could be a subtle hint to it.

October 23, 2013 at 11:14 pm #218400PheeParticipantOh, JMo, don’t ever attempt a British accent again. I know it was supposed to sound off like Emma was trying and failing to imitate him, but GAH. 😆
The Princess Bride line was a perfect fit, because they’ve said before that there’s some influence from that movie in the characterisation of Hook. It also fits because Westley would say it instead of saying, “I love you,” when Buttercup wasn’t really aware of what he felt for her, which I think fits the current CS dynamic.
Revealing in a spoiler that Charming is healed is kind of a big deal. Although I am 100% on the “Hook and Charming venture off to find the map but accidentally find the flower to heal dreamshade” ship, that is a big plot line they just let slip. So I can absolutely see this being about a lost boys fight
In the case that this is a lost boys fight, then Hook just convinced Emma to kiss him for saving her fathers life when in all actuality he is keeping it from her that he is slowly dying anyway.
Yep. I’m totally on board with Hook having saved Charming from some other life threatening situation, (possibly one that Charming had put himself in so he could die in an “accident” and Hook wouldn’t have to lie to everyone about how he’d died), and the poison is still doing its thing. And yeah, if that’s the case, and Emma thanks him like this for having saved him, but then later finds out he was keeping the real truth from her, (along with the truth about Milah, and the truth about what happened between him and Nealfire), I can’t imagine that’s gonna bode well for his chances of getting a second kiss.
Hook totally coerced his way into getting that kiss, but I’m not mad about it, because it’s piratey and totally in character. Was good to see it in some context.
Also, because I’m 12, Emma’s line about him going to get some firewood before coming back to camp made me giggle. If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the gutter. 😛

I don’t see this as Hook coering Emma. Emma was in complete control the whole time. She choose to initiate the kiss. She chose to end the kiss and even sent Hook away. Hook was completely surprised by her kiss. I don’t see any coercion here.
In the beginning Hook was being his regular cheeky self, which I find funny. I don’t think he wanted Emma to kiss him against her will.
I think that Hook reverted to his flirty self, because he didn’t know how to handle Emma’s gratitude. They both try to keep others out. I don’t think it is a setback to his redemption.
I have mixed feelings about Charming being cured. Since the writers decided to go this route, they should make sure that milk some drama out of it. I would like to see Emma and Snow getting worked up about Charming’s injury.
Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.
October 24, 2013 at 3:34 am #218419PheeParticipantHe may not have physically forced her into doing it against her will, but he did use the situation to talk her into doing it. Had he not have said anything, I don’t believe that it would have even crossed Emma’s mind to kiss him. I don’t think that moment would have happened if he hadn’t have prodded her like that. He essentially dared her to do it, maybe not expecting she would, given their history of him flirting and her rolling her eyes. And he certainly didn’t expect it to be anything that intense.
Emma may not have expected to offer up a kiss that intense either, but given how wound up and overwhelmed she is by everything that’s happening right now: Henry missing, Pan screwing with her, her father having almost died, Neal having actually died (as far as she knows) and being surrounded by reminders of him in that cave. Add it all up and Emma was like a fully loaded air compressor, and once the valve got released in that kiss moment when she was physically connecting with someone in an intimate way, all the pent up EVERYTHING came rushing out and she got lost in the moment and just went for it. I think that’s what JMo meant when she called it a “very human moment.”
October 24, 2013 at 10:54 am #218462sweetgrassParticipantwe see things differently. Emma escalated the situation each time. She’s the one that came in closer to Hook after he flirted with. She could have left, made a cutting comment, rolled her eyes but she chose to flirt back. She kept upping the ante after the initial flirt and Hook responded.
I agree that this has been an emotional time for her, but she has always had a spark connection with Hook. She might not have acted on her feelings without the situation, but the same could be said about her “I love you to Bae.” She never would have said that but for his being shot and in the portal. Emma has placed a lot of walls around her heart and it may take unusually trying situations for her walls to be breached by her emotions. I see no coercion physical or emotional here at all.

Indeed we do. This scene has pretty much split the fandom and no amount of back and forth will change either side’s mind. All we can do is wait to see how they’ve chosen to write the story moving forward from the kiss scene.

This Sunday is a Hook special on Once Upon A Time, so plenty of Colin and his lovely pony tail! #ouat #hookers http://t.co/tpTGFjrYaG
