If SB survives, they can use the cuttings that Regina saved to grow more beans. They apparently don’t take nearly so long to grow here as in the EF.
A thought occurred to me (I think WAY too much about Once…): If, in fact, Neal is discovered by Mulan and Aurora in some fashion, then they can use the netherworld to communicate the fact that Neal’s alive to Henry and/or the Charmings. They haven’t touched that for ages, but the ability DOES still exist. Suppose Henry wakes up from a dream communication with Aurora and runs to Gold to let him know that Bae’s alive (but in whatever danger)?
Gah, I want to see that.

That’s a really excellent point! How come we haven’t heard about any more of Henry’s nightmares? We haven’t even heard about them since before the S2 winter break.

I keep going back and forth about if the season will end with everyone still thinking Nealfire is dead. It would make for a stressful summer: when will they find out, how will they find out..ect. But then I thought about the three actors who play MAP. They all have other things (Jamie Chung has been picked up for a full series over on NBC) so to wrap up the storyline of MAP it might be best for Neal to leave them and at least start his journey back to his family. Maybe he doesn’t make it to NL or maybe he does, but the JR is not in NL but in NL-adjacent but at least MAP’s story is over.

Ooo! Good point about the dream stuff. It’s been so long since we’ve seen that group of people but I could see that happening. Especially with Aurora because if Neal mentions anything about who he is, where he’s trying to get back to, mentioning EMMA, etc, they’ll know. Or they could mention something about Emma or Snow and then it would click for him too. Aurora’s the one who would be able to check on them but we haven’t seen anything about Snow or Henry having nightmares anytime recently.
Snow is pretty good about blocking them out right now and unless she thinks to go into a deep sleep to find Henry….(though that could maybe happen which would explain how they might know where he is! And then they could ask Hook to take them to Neverland – I’ve been wondering how we know where GOAT is taking Henry so that the rest can try and follow…that could be one explanation I guess, though not sure they have time to show us the netherworld again, maybe just show Henry & Snow both waking up gasping or something and then Snow tells them?)
Also, Aurora could try to help get a message back to Emma through the off chance that Henry is still having nightmares, only to discover that Henry has been taken by GOAT which panics Neal and gives them ALL a reason to fight to get to wherever that is, causing them to eventually meet up with everybody else? Or at least they help Neal get to everybody else. They may stay behind again but have found Phillip at least and that is their home – Phillip wanted to rebuild etc. (Plus the actors have other acting gigs so it sets them up to not be seen for awhile but leaves the opening of doing so at a later time).
Plus eventually, someday we need to see the backstory on Mal & Regina’s frenemy status, and learn about Mal’s first attempt at going after sleeping beauty (Aurora’s mother) and eventually both Aurora & Phillip – I want some Mal backstory since they keep bringing her back into it, but it doesn’t look like we’ll get that anytime soon because of the constraints of the actors. Hopefully someday they can do it though. (I guess if they reallly needed something, they could work out a B crew to come and do some stuff during non-normal shooting months when the actors would be free. Especially if most of it is just that group with each other and not having to pull in the rest of the cast).
Love how the random sneaks that we have lead us to these other completely unrelated but still plausible lines of thinking!

Was Rumple babysitting Henry? The Charmings came to find him to tell him about Neal and Henry was told at the same time. It wouldn’t make sense for the Charmings to drag Henry out to where Gold was to then tell him about Neal when they could’ve told him at home.

Keeper of FelixThe only times they’ve ever let Rumple babysit Henry were when Emma had to run after Neal in NY and when they put him to sleep at Gold’s shop to talk to Aurora (and I don’t think Regina/David left him there alone). I’m sure there’s an explanation for why they went there to talk to him about it though.

You know I wonder what Aurora and Mulan thinking good grief we just got rid of Snow and Emma because of Henry and now they have Henry’s dad what are the odds 😛
They may have had Gold looking after Henry, since obviously something had captured Regina, and they needed to search. Still odd seeing as Gold was all wrapped up with Lacey. Maybe Henry came by to talk to Gold, and after Neal’s comment that Henry was the only reason he was staying around in SB , Gold decided to spend time with Henry?
I don’t think that works though, because when Gold finds out Neal is dead, he doesn’t think for a second about Henry. He’s all “I deserve to die.” Ok, fine, accept your guilt finally, but what about your grandson! All this effort for “his boy” but no concern for his son’s son?And Happy Endings–LOL at that. So true….

Good points and some people have proposed that it will be a combo of Belle and Henry to bring Rumple around and to try and save the town. I hope so.
As to why they are in the park…well. I hate to say this, but what if Henry is there just playing and Rumple is spying on him, planning his next move to kill Henry because of the prophecy. We know he told Lacey that nothing was going to stand in his way, so it’s only natural that he might try to act.
