Regina did that before at the well, I don’t buy it until she can find someone else to love she is always going to elimated the competition she has a one track mind like Hook with Rumble those two should be together they are so much a like in some many ways it is almost unbelievable 😎
I’d hate to think that the only way a person could find true happiness or redemption is by being romantically linked with another person. I think Regina’s first step is to realize the mess she’s made with everything. To gain some clarity and some perspective, especially re: Snow and Emma. And it looks like she is on her way with that sneak peek.

SpectatorDon’t kid yourself when it gets right down to it Gold and Regina will use magic all the time, if Gold wants to redeem himself then he needs to destroy the dagger in my opinion.

ParticipantI found the youtube version of the Emma-Regina sneak peek.

There is a difference between using magic for good and using magic for your own selfish purposes and ends. Rumple and Regina have always used magic for themselves, for what they want or desire. But using magic to help people, for the “right” reasons isn’t a bad thing and I don’t think they should give up magic entirely. We do need some people who can do magic. Regina and Rumple and Emma could be a great force if the first two begin their path to redemption.
And destroying the dagger probably means Rumple dies, so I disagree with you about that. I think it’s a mix of becoming the man he was (the best version of himself) and TLK.
**EDIT**
Thanks, Slurpeez. All 5 YT sneak peeks are now on the first page of this post."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 10, 2013 at 7:08 pm #192872kfchimera
ParticipantIt’s the story of course, of how these “bad” characters can become good that draws us in. They are so good at making us rethink things. Of course I do agree a little with Happy Endings that nothing will be happy and shiny for long. I can see Regina being upset that she doesn’t get to go out like a hero if Emma finds another way!

KeymasterI do think Regina and Rumple will make mistakes, it is who they are. But I think we’re done seeing Regina and Rumple be the “big bads” who constantly terrorize the Charmings. I think they have to shift focus to keep the show fresh and alive.

ParticipantI have to wonder how long Regina and Rumple can keep on the right track if they both stubbornly use magic as a crutch. And while they may think they can harness their magic towards doing the right thing, I believe it’s impossible for either one to do magic without giving into a lust for power and domination (which is what dark magic seems to be vs. light magic which is protective and selfless)
Prior to becoming the Dark One, Rumple thought he could use magic for good. Once he’d murdered Zoso, however, the magic consumed him to the point he was becoming worse everyday, just as Baelfire feared. So, I really think the only way Rumple could become the same good man he used to be is 1) Tamara zapped him with his taser so that he lost his magic (but survived) 2) He went to live outside of SB where there is no magic or 3) Rumple and Belle return to the EF where TLK can break any curse.
As for Regina, the path could be easier, and yet harder simultaneously. She isn’t cursed to do dark magic like Rumple is, but that also means she must willingly choose not to do magic anymore. She can’t just receive a TLK and be freed the same way Rumple could be. I suppose she could always willingly wear one of those anti-magic bracelets that Greg put on her before. Or she could go live outside of SB in say, Boston. That way, she couldn’t use magic, even if she were tempted to do so. With Regina, I think it’s the magic which is an actual addiction which is hard for her to give up, but as long as she’s abstaining form it, there could be real lasting reform for her. The longer she goes without out it, the more she would recover the real Regina, as she put it.

KeymasterSo, I really think the only way Rumple could become the same good man he used to be is 1) Tamara zapped him with his taser so that he lost his magic (but survived) 2) He went to live outside of SB where there is no magic or 3) Rumple and Belle return to the EF where TLK can break any curse.
Hmmm. But that’s so passive. I want him to be actor in his redemption story, not the object that something is done to in order to elicit a change. The second option seems a bit more active but I don’t think Rumple wants to stay in this land unless Belle and Bae stay too. Retuning to FTL seems more like a S4/S5 thing so in the meantime I’d like for him to try on his own, with the help of Bae and Belle.
And while they may think they can harness their magic towards doing the right thing, I believe it’s impossible for either one to do magic without giving into a lust for power and domination (which is what dark magic seems to be vs. light magic which is protective and selfless
Really? I don’t agree. If we look at their addiction to magic like any other addiction, are we saying it’s always hopeless. Can an alcoholic literally never be in the same room as a bottle without giving in? It’s self control. They have to learn that too. They have to learn that they can’t use magic to solve all their problems and then resist the urge to use it to get what they want.
