I think Granny, Red, and the dwarfs + Anton will stay behind.
The people going are all related to Henry and the ones who aren’t directly related to him have a strong connection to the family and can help (ie: Belle being there for Rumple + she’s practically Henry’s step-grandmother, and Hook having known Bae in the past and wanting to help his son + his has the ship for them to use + he was involved with Henry’s grandmother as awkward as that is for me to admit, so…they’re all connected back to Henry). The rest can stay and protect the citizens of SB for them while they’re gone.

As much as I love him I’m happy he gets another show. I loved him on Lost, Alcatraz and Once so look forward to seeing him in whatever. Hopefully we can see him at some point though.
In my head (and please no shipper wars on this! Just giving a general idea here, no specifics…) we literally bookend the show somehow (on a day very very very far away) with Emma having a big wedding and all the characters we know and love are present in the audience to parallel the Snowing wedding from the pilot – except this time we recognize people in the audience other than just Grumpy!) That way it ends on a happy note for Emma, *somebody, maybe Henry?* closing the book, and we’ve seen all the faces we’ve grown to love along the way so that everybody is included (well, everybody that is still alive at the time and friendly with the good guys). Perhaps Henry will write additional pages to the book and be telling a baby sibling or something what that day was like?
Either way I can definitely see Anton, Granny, Ruby, the dwarfs, Dr. Whale, Gepetto, Pinocchio, and Blue Fairy all sticking around SB to hold down the fort in SB, especially since we know that King George is still there (seriously, I thought we were going to deal with him this season. Where has he been since Child of the Moon and why isn’t he locked up in jail??)

I like the idea of ending the series with Emma’s wedding with all our beloved characters present and paralleling the beginning of the series.

I know! Where the heck is King George!?!

But yeah, George is probably the biggest bad left over from FTL (that we know of) who is still around, beside Regina and Rumple who are mixed bags and both antiheroes in the show anyway.

May 11, 2013 at 4:19 am #193097HappyEndingsSpectatorYou know I got to thinking with these portals you could land on someone if you aren’t careful can’t you? What if Mulan, Aurora or PP been right where Bae came out all three of them my need the water from the lake huh ❓

By the way….isn’t it funny that Hook is (for the moment) working with Greg? Does Hook know it was Greg that ran him over–it was an accident of course, probably saved his life from death by fireball from Rumpel…but…it’s just an odd coincidence. Or …is it?

Thanks for posting! So, I think this scene happens after Baelfire is pulled from the sea but before Captain Hook interviews the boy. I think after Hook learns Bae’s identity is when he decides to make the boy part of his crew. As Milha’s son, Bae is Hook’s last link to his lost love. As Rumple’s son, Bae is the key to potentially taking down his enemy, Rumplestiltskin. So, Hook will want to keep Bae for himself once he learns his true identity.
No doubt about it. Have I mentioned in the last 5 minutes that I’m really looking forward to seeing CaptainFire interact? Coz I’m sorta looking forward to that. Just a little bit.

I like Rumplestiltskin, in every iteration. Whether he is the coward of A Desperate Soul or at his most Dark One crazy self in The Thing You Love Most.
And what I said in my post is that he needs to be the active agent who makes a decision to change. But no one in this world is alone, and we all deserve help from those we love. He can do it with Bae and Belle by his side, but the choice must be his.AMEN!!

They would have to leave someone behind in charge, wouldn’t they? I mean, King George is still at large and who knows if any other people will wander into Storybrooke. Someone or some people they trust would have to be there to keep everyone safe and take care of things.
I vote Granny and Red
I second that!
I’m still not entirely convinced that Rumple and Belle actually leave on the boat. If SB survives, and Rumple has had his character course corrected over the loss of Bae, (I know the sneak peek shows him saying he doesn’t care any more, but I believe he’ll have a change of heart before the ep ends, with the help of Belle), then I can see the Charmings leaving him in charge in their absence. If SB is now potentially vulnerable to the outside world, they need to leave an authority figure in charge who they know can handle anyone who comes into town, no questions asked. Even if Rumple sees the light and changes for the better, the dude will still be able to unquestionably take charge, and he’ll have Belle there to keep him in check, so he won’t slip and do anything evil, (if he gets her back, there’s no way he’s gonna risk losing her again).
Speaking of SB surviving…Regina said in that scene that she wasn’t leaving…she was doing this, and there was no doubt that it would kill her. They’re not gonna kill off Regina. Which IMO means that the failsafe mess will be resolved in the first half of the ep, and SB will live on so that Henry can get kidnapped and they can all go on a boat ride.
May 11, 2013 at 12:26 pm #193134rumbelledearieParticipantHm, I agree that Rumple can take charge, but I don’t think he’d stay behind. They could ask him to, but when has Rumple taken a backseat to anything? Especially concerning his son, since they will be going after Tamara, the one they think killed him.
I don’t think he’ll leave to the others to go after her.
Unless he has a serious change of heart and wants to stay behind to be “good” and not seek revenge, possibly because of Belle.
Whether he stays or goes I just want Belle to be there too. It would be annoying if he left and she stayed. -
