Hook/Charming Broship…hm…
But Gold! *sobs* He’s lost everything now, or thinks he has…he needs Belle to give him hope. She’s gone and Bae’s gone and he blames himself for all of it.
And the Charmings are so convinced Neal is dead 🙁
I was thinking the same thing – why is everyone so willing to accept that Neal is dead? Can they not think that maybe he went to a place with magic and somehow could be healed? Also it looks like we will not get to see a scene with Emma telling Henry about Neal. We just see it taking place but no dialogue. I wonder if Henry will find out that Emma and Neal DO love each other.
I’m still in tears over the Rumple scene.

Can we please discuss this curse of the mermaids that Hook saved Baelfire from? These must be vicious mermaids after all, like the ones who drown sailors in POTC 4.
I agree. Bad mermaids. I wonder if the mermaids are divided in factions. Ariel and her sisters are the good mermaids but there was a rebellion by bad mermaids who now rule the underwater kingdom and have some sort of curse they placed in the water.

Emma doesn’t know much about the healing arts, even though she has this magic inside of her. She comes from our world, where a gunshot to the chest is usually fatal. Plus, her emotions and grief are in overdrive, so I doubt she’s holding out much hope that Neal could be magically healed.

No offense to Jared, but I don’t think he could pull off a very convincing dialog scene when faced with heavy emotions and crying. That is why the focus is on Rumple, because Robert Carlyle is a top-notch actor who can shed a tear just by dwelling on the make-believe situation of losing a son. Crying again. 😥

What if it is the other way around and Ariel is the mean one you never can tell from these writers what is what 😉

It would make sense for them to be vicious, and gives Ariel a more reasonable motivation for not wanting to be a mermaid any more. Not wanting to kill even though it’s in her “nature” would make Ariel an outcast amongst the other mermaids. Disney’s Ariel is often criticised for giving up her mermaid life and family for the sake of a man.
Hook totally sussed out who Bae was when he said his father was a “coward”. So Bae believed his mother was murdered by a pirate which is what Rumple probably told him after his first encounter with Hook on the ship. What did Hook say that made Bae be part of his crew? Has Hook told Bae how Milah really died or did he just tell him “a crocodile” killed her?

Keeper of FelixMay 9, 2013 at 3:51 pm #192450vilyaParticipantThe curse of the mermaids is an interesting way to put it. I think that if the mermaids were evil then Hook would have said the wrath of the mermaids or something of the like. It sounds like the mermaids themselves are cursed somehow and could and would have spread it to Bae. Maybe Ariel will break the curse so all of the mermaids can be human too? I don’t know but I am so geared up for this episode that I can’t hardly stand it.
May 9, 2013 at 3:51 pm #192451angiebelleParticipantI think it’s silly that people think Ariel is giving up being a mermaid for the sake of a man! She wanted to be part of the human world before she even met Eric!

Yes the “curse” of the mermaids is an interesting way to phrase it. Maybe they are being held hostage by Ursula like the boys are being held by the Shadow on the island. Maybe Ursula and the Shadow are in league with each other.

I agree. Maybe Ursula killed Trident and Ariel was supposed to be next in line but Ursula usurped the throne and is now holding Ariel and her sisters hostage.
